Heat Bag? What's it for?

| So... I just finished this quest from Robeira asking me to collect 10 coal dust, 1 Pure Water and 1 steel plate. In return, I get 89k experience and a heat bag. It says the heat bag will help to prevent cold damage in the Ice Ravine, but I thought we don't get damage there anyways? What's the bag for? |
