Hello dear Maple community, I just voted for the "Change Resolution" option, and when I saw the results I almost fell of my chair... 50% FOR FASTER LEVELING? I mean, MapleStory is already a heck lot faster than it used to be 'back in the days'. Leveling to 120 became so easy. From then on, things may get a little harder, and from 140 on I think you can call the game 'hard'. But I like it this way, that theres only an elite group of high levels. I don't want to play Maple with every passerby getting to 120 within a few days. I'm gonna get a lot of bad responses to this post, I know, since 50% of you guys actually voted to get even more exp, but I hope some people still support this statement of not ruining Maple completely. Now you may ask yourself 'What is the point of this post?'. Well, I just hope to clear up that Maple already is a lot easier, and when it becomes even more easy many of you will quit. Why do you think people only play 'illegal versions of MapleStory' for a week, maybe two. Because they get boring, and I don't want the real Maple to evolve to a 'legit' 'illegal version of MapleStory'. (You know what I mean by illegal verion of MapleStory, don't you?) I hope I cleared some things up, and I also hope (but I doubt it) that Nexon doesn't take the 50% vote seriously and doesn't change a lot about the exp. Since this is a big majority, they'll have to improve leveling, but that can also be done through quests and such. Please don't make heavy changes about the exp. Thanks for reading this wall of text, and I hope I changed some people's mind (This is exactly the wall of text I posted on the Nexon Forums, using the forumID 'Unfocal'.)

I agree with a lot. I don't think they will make it any easier than it is in kms even if it casts most of the votes.. But we still have advantages over kms, one of them being that we have 2x exp cards and they don't? Yeah.....

[/quote] Lol, I would expect to see these kind of threads on the nexon forums but on basilmarket?... Information such as the exp reduction for faster leveling and a changed resolution setting shouldn't be much of a surprise. =/ Well, there's always the panic attack option.

Well the community changes. I had quit 3 years ago and the community was much more mature 3 years ago. I come back and it's flooded with "wat char shud i make" threads or something that has to do with damage. Everyone's obsessed with numbers since I've come back.

I think it makes sense to believe that humans in general want things done the fastest way possible. That's why people spend money on buying 2x cards, spend time during 2x periods, etc. As a result it should not come to a surprise that people will want that, or something else that involves something going by faster (travelling anyone?). I personally like the idea of leveling faster because now I'm a university student, meaning my ability to spend time on something like MapleStory is more limited than it was when I was in high school or during the summer. I don't agree with having to spend a few hours for a single level without having to buy a 2x card anyways. On top of that, in order for them to get into creating more high level stuff, they have to make it easier to make more high levels. A 120+ only area is not going to be very well received when less than 0.5% of all MapleStory characters have access to it, for example.

On this "Illegal" Maple Story as you call them, many times the easiness is way overdone, that is why it gets boring. There was this "Illegal" Maple Story way back, a couple of years back I think, that was only 8x exp and 8x drop and I actually enjoyed it, and if it had not been sued by Nexon I would have kept playing it.

But that was 8x without the exp curve etc. Now this is what I don't like about the legit Maplestory: exp curve, new monsters with better hp:exp, 2x cards for sale that can be combined with 2x family/event and now they wanna boost it even more? Sounds like the Maplestory now levels way faster than that 8x server back in the days. @ the other comments: I'm just saying what I think is wrong about Maple now, not panicing at all
