No, I've got no questions, well yeah, but no... I first wanna talk about a deduction I got from Inferno ; and then I ask my question. For those who still have problems trying to get what their ideal build for the 3rd job would be 'cause still wanna get Inferno anyhow (I don't blame you, I've had this problem too), I got to a (maybe) helpful conclusion: Before the balance repatch (don't remember when it was, May or June I think?) most of the Rangers used to max every skill excepting Inferno (they actually put 1 into it, 'cause after maxing everything, only 1 SP left) because they found it pretty useless. After the balance repatch , Inferno was given some new effects (the DoT), and I wanted to get it and I actually did a build so I could keep both Inferno and Thrust (as I always liked more speed over power), but couldn't max them all. Here goes my conclusion: - The Inferno 's DoT will be more helpful for really strong monsters (like Lv.100~onwards, I hope bosses too) than for the weak ones. - Inferno has 160% damage, Arrow Rain has 160% damage too, and Bomb Arrow has 150% damage . - Big Bang is coming really soon (I've heard it'll be some day of December) The thing is, will you be able to get Lv.100 before Big Bang comes? If not, why don't you better stick to Bomb Arrow (there's only 10% difference)? When I thought this I said to myself "Alright, I won't be able to get Lv.100 before the Big Bang, so why would I get Inferno ?", so I'm gonna follow the standard build (maxing everything and 1 in Inferno ); but well, that's me , if you can, here goes the build I made: Strafe ->28 Arrow Rain ->28 Inferno ->21 Thrust -> 13 Puppet ->20 Silver Hawk -> 21 (95% stunn is more than enough) Mortal Blow ->20 Or if you wanna max Silver Hawk (some people say 95% is not enough) you can sacrifice 8 SPs from Mortal Blow and put 'em into Silver Hawk (in Lv.29 and 30 it has 99% stunn, so better leave it at 29) So, here goes my question: After Big Bang, will it worth at all to get Arrow Rain ? Inferno : Use a fire-based attack to hit up to 6 monsters at once, which will suffer fire damage. Max level 20: -30 MP, 450% damage, enemies will get 50% damage each second for 6 seconds. Arrow Rain : Shoot arrows up in the sky, which will attack several enemies when coming down. Max level 30: -28 MP, attack up to 10 enemies, 400% damage. Requires level 5 Mortal Blow . I mean, after Big Bang there will be no minimum-range to fire, so you could use Inferno when enemies are close and it will have almost the same effect, actually, it does 50% more damage than Arrow Rain . Yes, i know, Arrow Rain will hit up to 10 monsters... but... the only time I've seen so many monsters stuck together is CPQ1 and PyPQ... I don't know guys, what do you think? O.o Oh, one last thing... what do you think on After Big Bang's (Weapon) Mastery 's mastery has been reduced by 10%? Well, Before Big Bang 60% mastery, +20 Acc After Big Bang 50% mastery, +60 Acc What you guys prefer? I personally chose Before

-If one day u decide to train on typhons, arrow rain is the main skill evrybody use here, & gathering more than 6 typhons is really short, so if u take some time at making all typhons in the map follow you, killing 10 of em at the same time would be much better than 6. -If you use arrow bomb in this map, all typhons will fall to the bottom so u cant mob em from THE 'safe' mobbing spot (middle of the map). -I discovered 3 weeks ago that maxed puppet + maxed inferno make training much cheaper in this map (you use less hpPots), & kill faster (dealing 1400dmg/ typhons x 11 (overtime) + initial damage) they have 56,000 hp -idk if typhons will still be the same post Bb -thrust ... generally u can get the speed from equips pr Bb ftw, not only for mastery ; i just like having a minimum range hope it can help you

spiritrivalWell, it really all depends on the new maps we're going to be training at. If there are suitable mobs for Inferno, then maybe we can ignore Arrow Rain. However, it still is the only skill that can attack behind you. I still think that dropping Strafe would be your best bet.
by the way, I think after BB skills were designed for people to be able to max 'em all. Anyways, a Full-SP-reset comes with the BB, so I'm gonna use the 21 SPs from Arrow Blow and Double Shot for 3rd job skills (at least they conserve the 1st-job-SPs, 2nd-job-SPs, etc., then i'm ruined... if all SPs will work for [i]all job advancements, then we won )

TBH adding points into thrust is absolutely useless, i'm thrustless and i love having the extra points to max out skills that actually matter .

D: i just wonder if that "Thrust VS. Inferno" topic will ever get into a conclusion... I'm starting to think the Ranger stage doesn't have a standard build, it all depends on how u want it i have even thought on leaving AR in 1 and maxing Inferno ._. u see, i'm already used to Power Knock-back , and after BB PKB will have 100% chance to knock-back the enemy... and right now (before BB) Inferno and AR have same damage, but Inferno has DoT... but a guy called me an idiot... TT.TT idk, bowmen were always supposed to attack from far... yes i kno, "if u ever go to typhons..." i will consider about it after BB...

Arrow rain isn't just a typhon thing, it's useful for all kinds of training maps, whether it is gallos, gobies, and even occasionally himes, if my math is right, if you go thrustless you should be able to max ALL your skills, with the exception of 21 inferno (which is what i'm currently doing). 21 inferno is when the max burn time kicks in (6 seconds?) and max mortal blow has saved my life more times than i can count, hawk and puppet ('nuff said, 99% stun+ a handy damage control tool) and strafe + AR as core training skills, regarding thrust.. if you want mobility, go make an assasin.

Leave strafe at one? Maybe not? Lol (I'm no professional) Well I was thinking, is strafe going to be used in 4th job? Because hurricane replaces it... But then again, you might need strafe for third job, unless your training in an area with extremely high spawn rates o_o

Aha i have always been for thrust. The guy who said "if you want mobility, go make an assasin" is right. We really don't need speed it is more of a desire. You probably don't need the speed at higher level training anyway. I'm not sure if i will be maxing hawk. The percent ends up pretty high without maxing it. Puppet is amazing and strage ends up becoming your most powerful 1 hit attack. (all 4 shots count as one hit) Arrow rain is a pretty nice skill in my oppinion but i've never compared it to inferno. As of now arrow rain is for sniping spots on close enemies. At mp3 i stand on car and kill all enemies below me. Also it's the only close range attack we have at the moment. You brough up some interesting points though. I believe people will be taking alot of this into consideration after bb. I really am kind of nervous about bb coming. Why? because i have no idea what my build will be LOL.
well, i think that for after big bang, they are redisgning all skills so you can max 'em all; if you see the Big Bang Guide section you will see many changes Thrust's max level goes from 20 to 10 with same effect (+30 speed) Inferno's max level has been reduced too (from 20 to 10) and 450% dmg, 6 seconds of DoT Silver Hawk's too (from 30 to 20), 180 secs, 250% dmg, 99% stun that helps like a lot, and a new skill will be added: Dodge (max lvl.10), so yeah, i think u can max 'em all... i've not made maths yet (too lazy) but i think u can max all skills... as for hunter skills (remember u will have a FULL-SP-reset) Final Attack's max lvl will be reduced too (30 -> 20) and it will just appear as a second damage after the first one (it won't require time to cast) Arrow Bomb (30 -> 20) 310% dmg, 60% stun for 6 secs Soul Arrow (20 -> 10) with half effect :S (from 600 secs to 300) new skill: Improved Fundamentals, but as Rangers it is useless
