I have been thinking a lot about how the "survivability" of one class compares to another. In doing so, I realized that survivability can mean different things to different people. What does "Survivability" mean to you?

Being able to train a lot without the direct fear or dying. If this is done with a lot of HP or many avoidability skills doesn't matter.

The ability to stay away from monsters that could potentially kill you.

Well i guess it's leaning to "can take a hit", but if the damage dealt is so high that you can't tank a hit, then invincibility frames and stuff would come into play. So yeah probably first "tanking hits" and then invincibility frames.

This is why DrKs have the worst survivability in the game sometimes, when they're trying to boss with berserk on all the time, even though they have the highest HP in the game.

Being able to stay alive. For warriors high HP and power guard contribute to survivability, for bandit iframes and mesoguard, for bowmen range and puppet. etc. I also consider player skill as a factor of survivability.

[/quote] This is the sole reason i feel that drk's are a flawed class.... untill the bb.. Whats the point of having so much hp when u can only use half to deal decent damage? This i just me though... it's still a fun class. I think survivability relies mostly on iframes.. & avoiding. Tryna tank every hit wont get you very far and will only last so long.. but if you have the skill to constantly avoid hits on a consistant basis? (iframes) and have high avoid to cover up your mistakes/flaws (when u fail a iframe and the monster tries to hit you but misses because u have such high avoid) then you have the most survivability in the game. Personally i think shads own there, 40% chance to miss + high avoid + meso guard + sick moves to avoid getting hit + chakra = alive forever... this is why they are the most prefered sed mules at HT

Pretty sure it unarguably means "The ability to stay alive" so...Anyone that chooses anything but option three is kind of dumb.

Being able to tank a hit, avoid won't save you forever if you can't take 1 hit and live... same with iFrames, you will get hit sooner than later.

If u can't take at least one hit from a major enemy, then wat's the point of survival. Answers vary depending on class. As for a aran like me, it's all about combo drain, body pressure, and numerous other skills aran-based

So even if I HP washed until max HP, and I have 15k HP with berserk... I'd much rather have like 5k as a NL. I still prefer this job, even though it's this flawed, and big bang is now such a relief. After years of suffering from my crappy survivability, I can finally sit back, and relax with 30k HP 24/7, with 5 bishops holding heal, and auto pot set on 100% with ginger ales/honsters, while holding crusher and letting others take care of my surviving instead. S>A few thousands of milks and ginseng roots@@@@@

A way to survive, like BM/NL with <5,5k hp at pap. To survive you have to duck at 2nd body. That's what it means to me: survive a mob that can 1hko you

Survive as in not die, and be able to do your job as an attacker. A BM SEing at Targa from a corner is surviving, not doing his job as an attacker.

It's so obviously both. First priority: Being able to survive hits at a 100% ratio. Second priority: Minimizing the amount of hits you get. So say a washed shad with 999 avoid and max shadow shifter who perfected the use of Boomerang Step as an avoidability tool. Yep.
