So i have an Ipod Touch 3G. I've seen that Ipod Touch 3G battery lasts approximately 7 hours and 52 minutes, but for some reason, mine runs out VERY FAST. Bluetooth is off btw. Is it because im gaming on it every once in a while or what? thx

The 7 hours and 52 minutes, or whatever was in the specs are taken when the iPod Touch 3G is used in such a way that it it consumes the least amount of energy possible, in order to produce the optimal battery life time. This is not necessarily a realistic way to measure the battery life time; for example, they have have the iPod Touch turned to the lowest brightness settings, have it do nothing (not even play music, which uses CPU power), Wifi disabled, etc. in order to get the highest battery life usage for the specs. It's flawed in that an average user will never reach 7 hours and 52 minutes because he or she will be using the iPod Touch like a real person should, and not subjected to unrealistic factors such as these. It's common that companies advertise using this method.

I'm sure you could pull a solid 7 hours of listening to just music, and only turning on the screen once every 15 minutes or so. Games, videos and Wifi just own your battery life though.

a) if your not using wifi, turn it off b) leave brightness lower c) turn off notifications d) 3d gaming eats up the battery really fast e) or if your battery is just getting old, as on the apple website it says, after 200 charges, your battery will only be at 80%. and its about 200 charges/year

The hell? i charge my iPhone like 3 times every two days... OT: Gaming really does kill the battery. Internet does also. Brightness and (I think) sound very slowly kills it as well. You'll see that the iPod touch doesn't have the greatest battery life compared to other mp3 players, but you get a lot to make up for it. |

I see.... thanks guys! I was wondering why the hell my ipod only lasted for like 1-2 hours when it said 8 hours... God what a cheapass.. Thats what they did for their GB too. 32 GB can store up to (very catchy number) of songs, and (very catch number) of games! but in reality, its either the space for songs, or for games. APPLE YOU RIPPOFF!
