Why do people put 1 meso less?

I was selling a gfa that i got from pypq today and i was selling 8m. The guy I traded put 7,999,999. I WANT MY 1 MESO! Why do people put 1 meso less?

On 8mil it doesn't really matter, but people do that to avoid taxing the seller. Since the tax is lower for something 9mil than something 10mil, 9,999,999 will actually give you more money than 10,000,000. It's unnecessary to do so if you're in the same tier of tax however, but it's just become a standard way to pay for items that benefits the seller.

They get taxed less cuz every mil will have a higher tax rate. Therefore you would get more mesos when he put 7,999,999 compared to 8,000,000

What they said do u want 7.6 mil or 7.4 it's up to u lol u can ask for the 1 meso after trade if that makes u feel better

Yea i was trading with this dude and i didnt put 10999999 but i put 11000000 and he kept raging even after i explained tochim that the. Fact of that happening only works if its the border of the increased tax... -_-

I hated to sell stuffs in the fm entrance, cause you always get less mesos after the trade. Have a store permit not only takes away less tax also sell it for higher price.

It could be to avoid taxes but I think it's also because for example 599.999 looks like way less than 600.000.. so people will buy it faster o:

When you trade, you'll see the tiers listed at the bottom. 1 meso less tha the listed tiers will give you more mesoes, thanks to the tax rates changing with each tier. Although its pointless at any other value. @ above, that is true for shops. RL stores do the same.

its psychological warfare. makes them feel like they are ripping you off, and you feel ripped. OT: its because it bypasses tax usually, but the dorks dont realize it is only with certain values that it is effective.

If someone trades you with 10m its better to put 9,999,999 becuase the taxes will only pull 300k out of it and from 10,000,000 it will pull about 400k

IMO, they should only do then whe taxes affect, like 1,000,000 > 999,999, but not for all the prices in between.

I do it because of taxes for the tiers, if i just take 1 meso off all I do not need to know what tier it is and junk. Just as easy as hitting 0s... you'd have to make over 1m trades for that 1 meso to add up at all anyways.
