You could always party with a 4th job mage friend and have them spam ultimates on one side while you kill on the other. You get the beeeeest of both worlds!

Ideally you do both. My Sair levels a lot faster at Skelies if I'm training. Leeching is significantly slower due to the lousy XP split. However, if I "take bottom" and some bishop is spamming at the top, then it's the best XP possible. I'm able to get all that (lousy) xp split from their kills on the top, while getting full xp on bottom. I also never have to jump around or move, since their mass slaughter on the top leads to a continual respawning for me on the bottom. I'd imagine gallos are the same- mass slaughter by a bishop on the right side while you continually massacre things on the left. Full XP for your kills on the left, lousy (but still significant) split xp from the bishops kills on the right.

Do both while on 4x, you'll get the best results.
