Someone tell me how to solve this, show your steps please and what you did =/ Solve by elimination : A.) X Y and x-y =6 ( - ) + ( - ) = 2 2X Y 3 4 ( - ) + ( - ) = 1 3 3 X Y ( - ) + ( - ) = 3 6 5 Please help =/ my teacher didnt even explain the fractions and Im completely lost.

I don't understand the question. Can you give us the raw question without the whole (-) part. It sounds like your question is XY=6 and X-Y=6.

Lining up the equal signs will help. An easy way would be moving 1 side to known, 1 to unknown (if x+1=2, you move 1 over to the right which is x=2-1. Never let the unknown be a negative.) Furthermore, giving us a little bit more of the question would be helpful (wtf? X Y and x-y = 6) Isolate too btw.
