no, drain is better, much much better. An unmaxed booster gives the same atk speed as a maxed one, so why bother. Drain gives you more efficiency, so put your points into drain

who uses drain anyways lol. it's more like points to waste. another example is shadow web, you have to pick between web and shadow meso but when it comes down to it, no one uses either of them unless theyre trying to solo a black crow

Drain is useful on some occasions. But generally speaking, either of the skills, both maxed, or unmaxed comes to the same point. They both do what they're suppose to do, with only a minor hitch of seconds/damage

You'll be able to max both of them towards the end of 3rd job anyway, with your extra points. You can max drain while keeping booster at 18, and this is what I recommend. It is what I have done on both of my hermits. Drain is immensely useful and can save you tons of HP potions. I use it constantly while training and on this char I am 11x. Leaving drain unmaxed will make it weaker, but claw booster still has the same effect at level 18 as level 20, it just lasts 20 seconds fewer.

You end up maxing it as an option at 3rd or 4th job. But generally, either at 18 are fine.

Claw booster: As you add points into it, the duration of the active skill lasts longer and it costs less MP and HP to cast. The minimum level I suggest for this skill is Lv. 6 (If you decided to put SP into the nearly worthless skill, Endure), but you should be able to get it nearly maxed anyway. Drain: As you add points into it, it will gain a steady increase in damage and heal more. This skill is only practical to use if it's Lv. 24+ for 2 - 3HKO monsters.

look at this video of drain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An-g5Ns5fdk the hermit is lvl 113, and NEVER had to use an HP potion AT ALL because of maxed drain. now that is efficiency. drain is only used as a regenerative skill only when you get damaged.

|
Shyam1115 : ovbiously you have never had a sin or hermit
Obvious troll is very obvious. By the way, you spelled obviously wrong. Also, the class is called "assassin", not sin. In addition, I have a hermit that is lvl 80, so I do know what I am talking about. |

ganderzero Really, so you think that if your HP and MP are reduced to 1 that you can just drain yourself? Or when you are passing through an area of high level monsters which you cannot hit? How about when there is a mob of monsters you can't avoid? What now? You cannot rely on drain to work all the time for you... Who says I have an assassin anymore? And I made a typo, so what? I know you made a typo when you said "assassin",

What I did was max booster and left drain at level 28. I don't really use drain that often, so that's why I did what I did. o.o But that's only my opinion. d: You can go with whatever. Just see how you train and if you see yourself using drain a lot, then max it. If you find yourself not using that skill as much, then don't max it. It's simple. But either way, two skill points in either skill doesn't do that much.
