Would you isolate yourself for 10 years for 1 Billion USD?

Here is what you need to do: You will be stuck inside a room which is 100 feet by 100 feet by 50 feet (height). There be an unlimited amount of food and water and you will have access to a bathroom. You can imagine any food you want and it will be provided for you. You won't be able to talk to anyone for the entire time you are in there. Once you enter, you cannot leave the room until the 10 years are up. You will also have a gun with 1 bullet in it just in case. While you are in the room, you will hear absolutely no sounds from outside even though you are still on planet earth. You can only hear the sound of your voice. When the 10 years are up, you will get 1 Billion US Dollars. Would you do it?

i could. its not that hard. I imagine my favorite foods/drinks snacks eat them. Shower daily. and think things over on what to do with 1b. Sleep. Rinse and repeat. fix my upcoming budget if i think of new things etc etc. I think i could make it.

you wouldnt last 10 years end of story. complete isolation desensitizes you youd basically become an animal and money wouldnt be important at tht point unless you made a letter before you left payin ppl to teach you how to be human again after the time

Okay, your scenario can't be ridiculous if you're talking about isolation and real life money. Obviously, you'll have someone to try to talk to who would bring the food and beverages. A gun and a bullet would therefore be of no use since you have someone to talk to, even if the food/beverage-bringer did not or could not talk to you, you'd probably be delusional and would talk to yourself or an imaginary friend. If either of those things don't happen, you would go insane and kill yourself, the gun and bullet should however not be placed with you as they are tempting you to kill yourself. If you wanted out of this isolation, you would just have to somehow communicate to the food bringer that you wanted out.
