Two balls are thrown simultaneously with the same velocity. One is thrown straight down and the other is thrown at an angle. Both balls will hit the ground at the same time. True or false? And why?

[/quote] All objects that are falling if they're aerodynamic will fall at a = 9.8m/s^2 I even learned this in Physics today. :P But since there was a ball thrown at an angle, it will stay slightly higher than the other ball, so one ball will hit the ground before the other. True because their accelerations and velocities remain constant.. regardless of x-direction.

It depends on the angle. If it is less than 90 degrees. It'll fall at the exact same time.

[/quote] Yea, but the balls are identical & they will fall at the same velocity and the acceleration is the same too, so the one thrown at an angle will stay higher for a little bit longer. Above That's true because if you throw it at an angle > 90 it will be suspended in the air for a little bit before coming back down (negative gravity)

I remember my teacher doing a demonstration. He used a machine that shot one ball vertically down and another was kicked horizontally (180 degrees) at the same speed. Both balls hit the ground at the same time, so whats this about being suspended in the air longer?
