I'm a new Gunslinger. Help me out? =]

| So, I just made a Gunslinger. Level 17, and it is CRAZY fun already. Double Shot shoots like REALLY fast, 144 uses per minute, from what I've heard. Dash is pretty nice too. And from looking at the threads here, the Gunslinger sections looks to be a nice place... Almost as nice as the Bandit section. =P But anyways, can you help me out here? For example, what's a good AP build? I'm trying to go STRless and convert to LowSTR later on, or is there a better way? If the conversion to LowSTR is better, when should I cap my STR? What about 2nd/3rd/4th job SP builds? After Big Bang? What weapons/equips should I have all the way through level 200? What's a good end-game gun? What about HP washing? How much HP do I need to go boss effectively? Where are the best places to train? Thanks :D |

| Well by the looks of you. your funded which is most definitly super helpful. BoF helps a ton and so does a semi okay attack glove. if you can 60% your weapons bc they are cheap but if not just 100% them. which should be a given. some people don't and their damage is pathetic ( i saw gunslingers who's max damage was 100 less then my min and they were 1 lvl higher than me) so i say be a damage hor bc it actually helps a lot. as for sp builds 2nd get mastery up then invisi. that will be your basic use skill till lvl 70+. after that isnt to hard to guess wings for RS then blank shot and finish it with putting it into whatever you wish. 3rd is very optional and you should read up on it as it will change to your preferences. and 4th job 1 thing to say Rapid fire is not their main damaging skill. its fun but isnt.... that great |

| Slinger section> Bandit section Slinger section has more Pewpew As for your questions...-points at slinger guides- I'm personaly capping my str at like 60 since dex equips are soooo much easier to get then str. Also bit off topic but slingers rocks I bought 30 60% gun scrolls for 10m last night xD |

| Well, I'm not exactly sure about the Low STR stuff, since personally I'm not low STR. Gunslingers/Outlaws get 2 new skills after the big bang, Critical [something] and Lucky Dice. I've heard that some 3rd job skills' master levels are reduced to 20, so those extra points could be used on Lucky Dice. As for Critical [something], there are 11 extra points that can be used for that. I'm not positive about HP washing, but I do know what Gunslingers have the highest HP rate of all the ranged classes. Well, Pre-Big Bang, Outlaws/Earlier Corsairs trained at Jr. Newties, but I don't think that's going to be possible after the Big Bang. A lot of Corsairs use a decent Concerto as an endgame, as the Reverse Blindness, I believe, costs more than most reverse weapons. |

| luvage Dammit, I need to change my Character for Basil. But yeah, I have decent funds- about 32m, a Zhelm, early level equips, and about 4.4k NX in surveys. ZeroLich I'd have to say the Slinger section and Bandit section are about the same. =P So with the funds I stated earlier, and funds to come, how much should I have STR at in the end? And yeah, Gunslingers do seem like a cheap class =D And I will check Gunslinger guides, training guides, equip guides, etc. aloley Lucky Dice is a 2nd job skill, I think, and Critical is just, well, Critical. I'll try to get as much damage as I can from 120-200. That's a lot of time to get a Reverse Blindness. |

| Personally i think that going str less or even low str is a waste but what ever fits you. But in the end depending on what gun your going to use you should have at least 100 total str for a concerto. Check the guides for where to train but i liked cpq 30~50, mp3 50~65, wind raiders 65~75, newts 75~125.125+ skeles. Builds you can also check the guides for and after big bang no one really knows SP/AP builds yet. Weapon/Equips for end game for me would be a 100+att concerto, equips would be a dex scar,MoN, Good overall with 2x~3x+ dex, 10att gloves,Face stomper shoes or a good dex shoe. Hp washing I don't really know about yet. |

| Read this it may help you. Just another Opinion Of course. MrSinDeath19: I was thinking about this last night, and i realized, there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO POINT in being Str-Less OR Low-Str. Let me explain. The lv 110 Gun requires 110 Str, correct? And by that lv, all Outlaws SHOULD have a Zak Helm and a MoN (+20 Str/Dex Total). So that means, they require an extra 90 Str to equipt the lv 110 gun. Now, i noticed MOST gunslingers cap their str around 40 or 60, requiring them to add 50 or 30 str from equipts. But lets think about this for a second.. What is the difference between Str Equipts and Dex ones? You can buy a 20 Str overall for the price of a 25+Dex overall. The same idea goes with buying a Str Cape. So logically, all gun-users should have 90 Base Str by 110. But then some people complain saying: Well what if i Chaos Scroll my ZHelm, and use a HT pendant? Well, lets think about that as well. An EXCELLENTLY Chaosed ZHelm will have about 30 Str, and the current max (for at least a few months) on the HT necklace is 22 Str. So they will then get about +50 Str from their equipts MAX. So therefore, if they plan on using a HT necklace (which is stupid, MoN > HT even when it is fully scrolled) and spending millions and millions to add an extra 15 Str to their ZHelm, they end up needing a MAX of 60 Base Dex. Now, for some reason if on another account you happen to own a, lets say, +50 Str sauna, then thats great, cap your Str at 40 ( +20 from ZHelm/MoN + 40 +50 = 110), but unless that is the case, i would STRONGLY RECOMMEND ALL Gunslingers/Outlaws/Corsairs to cap their Str at AT LEAST 70 or 80 *I currently have 50 Base str at 79, but i plan to raise it to 65 in the next 3 lvs and get a ZHelm so i can wear my lv 80 gun, and then sell all my Str equipts and upgrade them to better Dex Equipts. Eventually, i will have 80 or 75 base str, in case i somehow find a nice overall scrolled with a bit of str and good dex for cheap* Summary: All gun classes should cap their str at at the LOWEST 70, because they get +20 Str from MoN and ZHelm. The most practicle thing to cap it at is 80, because then you will have a total of 100 str, and have a little flex room if something comes up where 10str is cheaper on something than 10dex. So, to all Slingers, Outlaws, and Corsairs, 70-80 STR is the way to be! |

|
RockyCK : *WALL OF TEXT*
SAGE. All of it. I have 80 str base myself and while I thought it was alot at first it's actually allowed me a great deal of flexability. My range, without having my MoN yet, is 2287~4032 and that's as a 128, average funded Sair. I don't even have a PAC, just a 2Atk Raggedy Black Cape and an 8Atk (plus other stats) Canopus Glove. Your damage shouldn't suffer if you put a little bit into your equipment. You'll also have the added benefit of being able to wear higher leveled armor. A bit of additional defense can be helpful when making early transitions from WR's to Newts or Newts to Skeles. |

| I think the new potential system kind of puts capping str above 40 or so at a disadvantage. I mean with chaos zak helm and chaos ht pendant its become a LOT easier to cap your str very low, way lower than 70 or 80. Also important is the fact that % equips only work with the base stat which means having a higher base dex will yeild greater gain from % dex equips and that 40 or so extra dex can make a big difference at very high levels. This is just coming from what I know/read on basil. |

| I was just copy and pasting from the guide that everyone could read but choice to ignore for some reason. My opinion though is as long as you do not over stat you are fine. Once you get to endgame and you have 5 more str then you need: seems like a issue to me. That's why you take the time to plan out accordingly. |

Being low-str makes training easier, and it allows me to kill newties faster than normal str outlaws (from what i've seen) with that being said.. from what I experience while i train, i am going to disagree with the statement about low-str being useless... then again i didnt read your wall of text.. |

This is my second character, the first having stopped at level 62 with an accumulated wealth of <100m to contribute to my to be Corsair. I capped at 80, allowing me to use my Dragonfire Revolver and equip the full Canopus Set at lvl 110. It's also allowed me a bit of flexibility through the Visitor Event being able to equip my standard weapon with the full visitor suit. I didn't start with too-too much, but I sank what I had into my equipment and it's okay. Not fantastic, but better than average I'd like to think. Now, consider someone who's got really deep pockets who can build or buy custom equips at a whim. Well, a much lower cap would likely yield a much, much higher damage output further down the line. However, without that level of funding and/or quality of equipment your damage is likely to be no better or possibly worse than I was able to manage from accounts I've seen. |
