I once had a life full of purpose, full of meaning, full of hope. Then, with the click of a mouse, all of my dreams and aspirations were torn away from me. For 2 years I have been riveted to the computer screen, playing Maplestory for extended periods of time, and doing so, constantly procrastinating. All the symptoms of gaming addiction were present in my everyday life. I was trapped, poisoning myself within the deadly clutches of the game. I was truly addicted to Maplestory; No matter how hard I tried, quitting was not an option. I knew that addiction to Maplestory would prove to be dangerous in one point of my life, and I felt that today was the time. I had failed my LMus piano exam, and undeniably, a Maplestory was a substantially large factor contributing to my failure. In an instant, I finally realised that I can't let this game affect the way I live any more. Tomorrow, I shall notify all my buddies and guildies of my retirement from maple, and maybe give the account to my brother or something. A part of me regrets this decision, but I know that it will benefit me. The two years I've been playing have definitely been fun, but I have decided that it shall come to an end; I am finally free.

Okay this isnt saying not to quit but im saying that, you should but not give away your character or anything a way for that matter. If you had 2 years of fun you can wait a year or 2 and re-enjoy that 2 years again by playing again, dont quit on something you dont regret! i hope you get what im saying..

The only way to quit completely is deleting your accounts and characters with all items. Then remove MS from your computer. If you don't delete all your stuff you might feel someday that your brother has to give the account back or a friend owes you for when you gave him the account items.

When are you people going to learn? It's not the game, it's how much time YOU spend on it! LEARN SOME TIME MANAGEMENT. It's that easy. Jeez. Control your own brain some time, seriously. If you can't time manage, it won't matter whether you quit or not. You'll procrastinate with something else. Stop pushing blame off on to the game, or anything else, and accept that your choices to pay more attention to the game than you should have, and the choice to not spend time studying was your own fault. Your choice. Your life. Not the game's. You decide. EDIT: Also, deleting everything will not help if you are truly addicted. The internet will still be there and you'll just redownload it. If you disconnect the internet, you'll just spend all your time thinking about it. Learning time management skills > spazzing out and quitting on a whim. Seriously. Relax.
