Or anyone who is mathematically inclined :D So i'm taking advanced functions and i'm stuck on this question It's a Rational Zero Theorem question 3x^3 + 4x^2 + 9x + 12 i need that equation to = 0 what does x equal? I already tried all possible factors and none of them gave me 0 HELPZZZZ! D:

3x^3 + 4x^2 + 9x +12 = 0 x^2(3x+4) + 3(3x+4) = 0 (X^2+3)(3x+4) = 0 x^2+3 = 0 or 3x+4 = 0 square root of -3 =x or -4/3 = x Yeah I'm Asian and this is review of grade 11 functions I'm guessing.

Long divide the equation with that number (ex x+5)

Since the square root of negative 3 is impossible you just add an i at the beginning of the sqare root of 3 and bam there ya go :D

Rational Zero Theorem won't work, you just can't put integers in to that equation. You either factor or you don't; it's the only way.
