MineCraft- I think im in trouble, help please!

Ok well I just started a new world with the perfect map ever. So, I found this cave looking thing thats HUGE. But the problem is, I cant find any coal, no coal blocks in there + its pitch black. So it started to get night and I made a huge wall so zombies cant get in, but the thing is.. monsters are in that cave thing. I just killed a black widow then I found arrows, oh no, some skeloten is in there. So ermm..help? I cant find any coal blocks to looka nd kill the thing, so basiclly im living in a cave full of monsters, I blocked myself out from the cave and th other monsters following me. No, I cant get out saince all the monetsres are contuinesly jumping to try to get to to (But my wall is too huge) Help? :P Edit:Oh noes, I have 4hp..il be screwed if I go out of my wall.

Make a wall like this l===l If you can make it so you could see if it is nighttime or not. Edit: Do that or change the difficulty to peaceful.

Also, if you arent carryng stuff that are very important you can try dieing and coming back later on to take the stuff and slay the monsters. Excuse me for being a noob but how do I play minecraft? do I have to download it or something else Answer me please.

basically, monsters spawn anywhere in the darkness. what i would suggest, is to go to options and change to peaceful and mine and build till you're ready. or remake worlds until you find a place with good resources.

Yeah haha,I jsut cahnged it to peacfull, amde my torches so I can see the xcave I was hidng, then changed it back.. I had NO idea that cave led me to Magma, and it led me to more caves, and now im here, pitch black. Is this wierd ro is it normal for it to have caves that leads to caves that leaves to MORE caves with lava?

MineEdit is your friend.... Just use it to make your spawn point wherever you want it to be.

I spent a couple of hours yesterday exploring a huge cave leading to a plethora of smaller caves.

Yeah but, im using single player, and whenever I die, I ahve to start all over from scratch :/ Also, what is mind edit? Edit:BTW, I found my way out, got lots of torched and exploring the thing for kicks.
