I'm not good at introductions or guides, so I'll just make it brief. I'm just going to go over general information related to our accuracy and hit rate. Also, credits to Fiel and his extractions. Almost every bit of information comes from him. First, the Hit% formula. Sqrt(your acc) - Sqrt(mob avoid) + 100 This first caps at 100%. After that, you lose 5% off of your hit rate for every level you are below the mob you fight. So, everyone will be encuraged to only fight monsters at or below their level. However, the most important part of this formula is that when your level is equal to or greater than your opponent, you only need an equal accuracy to the mob's avoid to hit the monster 100% of the time. Next, we need to look at the possible Mob Avoidabilities: Level 11-20: 1 Level 21-30: 4 Level 31-40: 8 (technically the same as 4, because of truncating) Level 41-50: 16 Level 51-60: 25 Level 61-70: 36 Level 71-80: 49 Level 81-90: 64 Level 91-100: 81 Level 101-110: 100 Level 111-120: 121 Level 121-140: 144 Level 141-160: 169 Level 161+: 225 However there are some exceptions: Prime Minister: 12 (technically 9 avoid, since the game will truncate the square of 12, which is 3) Zakum: 144 (he was originally level 140, so this makes sense) Pink Bean: 625 Next the accuracy formula: 1.2 dex + luk + Acc from other sources = Total Acc. Now that the above information is layed out, I can begin the basic analysis. First, I'll look at a warriors base acc: 1.2 * 4 + 4 = 8.8 Using the table above, we can determine that a warrior is fine untill level 40 on accuracy, just from the base stats. Next, we factor in Mastery, which can be maxed as soon as level 37. Mastery gives 60 acc, and that leaves a total of 68.8acc. So now a warrior is fine on accuracy, untill level 90. After that, the only sources of Acc come from equipment and Blessing of the Fairy. So, I'll just start by adding the popular zhelm: Zakum Helm: 1.2 * 15 + 15 + 20 = 53 Running total: 121.8 Set till Lv120 And next, would be the cost efficient Mark of Naricain (HTPs are still a bit expensive for most people, but that would be 48.4acc) MoN: 1.2 * 5 + 5 + 15 = 26 Running total: 147.8 Set till Lv140 That exausted the easiest sources of acc you can find. The next sources would involve scrolling or finding potential abilities that add acc or dex. Since this part would be full of bias, I'll stop here. But I think I did prove that a dexless warrior would be very easy to make up to level 140, and few people would have trouble hitting 169 acc or 225 acc if they can hit these higher levels. The main problem I see is hitting Pink Bean, with it's 625 avoid. Although, I think people will try to ignore it for one reason... One other important thing to note is that lacking accuracy is no longer going to criple your character. It will make training harder (as training relies on consistancy), but it wont stop you from killing bosses. For example, if you add 0 accuracy, accoring to the formula, you would have a 75% hit ra

all i undedrstood was, we need less dex junk to be dexless now.. and, we cant kill stuff above our lvl or else we lose 5% damage

Specifically, with 225 acc, you will do only 90% of your DPM on PB. Which this is a pretty big deal.

So let me get this straight. If Warrior 1 has a greater damage range than Warrior 2, but Warrior 2 has a greater accuracy than Warrior 1, Warrior 2 will be able to have a better DPM?
Possibly. If Warrior A has an average DPM of 100 and 225 acc, and Warrior B has 95 average DPM with 625 acc, then against PB: Warrior A does 90 DPM Warrior B does 95 DPM However in another case that could happen. Warrior A has 225 Acc and 100 DPM, and Warrior Be has 625 acc and 80 DPM. Now on PB: Warrior A does 90 DPM Warrior B does 80 DPM Warrior A wins in this case. Personally, I'm thinking it depends on Balance, when it comes to PB. However, on other monsters... I'm willing to bet it barely matters. 225 Acc is easy enough to get without forfeiting a single point in Str. Edit we also dont know what the avoid is on the WT and Masteria monsters. So keep that in mind.

The only way that this applies is at Pink Bean or future bosses. lol.

I know this this is geared toward warriors, but I'm wondering if, as a Corsair with a naturally high accuracy rating, will I be able to hit things above my level without penalty or at a reduced penalty?

nope the penalty of 5% per level difference still counts. so even if you have insane high accuracy but your monsters are 2 levels higher you still get a penalty of 10% missing

the new accuracy formula is retarded. Its no wonder they are lowering the exp requirements.

To be honest, I wasnt really inspired (sorry to the above poster). I was bored. I would be working on Panic/Coma Cycles instead, but my brain didnt feel like it at the moment, since I have been up all night. Besides, someone needed to take a look at how accuracy works post BB. Although, I probably should have made it clear that most people would have no issues, except on PB. And that reminds me, the only other class that needs to worry about Accuracy is the Buccaneer. All other classes have their main stats add Acc, and they're hit rate is only capped by their levels. For buccaneers, they are the same as warriors, except for two factors: Bullet Time adds 120 Acc (set till level 160 without dex or equipment...) They also require dex for almost all of their equipment. So a Bucc with a King Cent would have at least 304 Acc. Edit: As a note, because of the truncations it becomes harder at later levels for each point of acc to be worthwhile. For example, there is no difference between 289 acc and 320 accuracy, because truncating the squares of those numbers results in the same number. However, 324 Acc (just 4 above that other value) will provide a whole 1% DPM increase against PB over 289acc and 320 acc.
Well now that I think about it we did come to the same conclusions (about the only case that acc should be an issue is against PB)... I think. To be honest, I barely remember our discussion. Well, nvm, if you thought of stuff, then you deserve credit. My half alseep mind doesnt want to think about these thngs right now.

I'm the one who linked tiered avoidability and accuracy to % to hit in a way that showed square root dependence meaning that large increases in numerical accuracy/avoid do less and less for your hit rate per point added on the margin. I also brought in the Idea of having a base accuracy of nearly 9 and almost having an extra 3% accuracy. And I can't find the thread we had our discussion on. Also, in your "guide"/table, shouldn't 31-40 be 9 and not 8, since 8 avoid is the same as 4 avoid under the new system. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry, I'm just drawing a blank, but I do know the discussion happened. And I'm certain that fiel's extractions showed 8. Likely a typo that just got accepted. Nexon is silly like that. The Prime minister's avoid is odd too. sqrt(12) truncated is just 3, and 3 squared is 9. They probably just should have made it 9. Edit: I remember it was a topic about post BB spearmen. Funny how lack of sleep fragments the mind... Edit2: here it is: http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/1710508/1 I'll read it a bit later.
