Dissapointed with my Girlfriend

She sent me a text last night asking me to her homecoming. "Hey I was wondering if you wanted to go to my homecoming with me. It's on October 9th." Why does this upset me? Because she asked me, did not tell me. Of course I want to go with her. What kind of question is that? When I ask her to mine (we go to different schools) it's going to be more on the lines of "Hey my homecoming is on the 22nd. Dress sexy" already assuming she is going with me since she is my GF. I don't have to ask for her permission to come with me.
