This is apparently the 5th gen pokemon http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon.shtml In my opinion, I say this season killed pokemon and they remind me of digimon...

I loved the first games and all that and even these pokemon which do look a little digi-tised when you look at them (you cannot disagree) they are still pretty awesome IMO of a few are bad (569,618)

I hate how people keep saying the new pokemon are ugly, the names are retarted(those are the japanese names..) and they all look like digimon. Honestly how can you even tell the difference between pokemon and digimon in the first place? they all look the exact same, so if you really enjoy pokemon stop b*tching and be thankful that nintendo is finally giving us some new stuff.

I'm more interested in the new metagame than the pokemon themselves, there are some new types that are cool. That Ghost/Fire pokemon is going to rock hard. My faves will remain the same. (Gengar, Lucario, Latios and Latias, etc)

I wish they'd go back to the natural appearance that the earlier Pokemon had. They looked like real animals that way. Smooth and organic themes are so much better than "DERP, LET'S JUST ADD SPOTS ON IT FOR NO REASON AND GIVE IT SPIKES LOL SO EDGY AND KAWAII." It really just seems like they're running out of ideas, and that is completely understandable; this is an excellent chance for them to bring back the older Pokemon and give them some more character. Imagine how awesome the anime would have been if Ash didn't release the Pokemon he claimed to be his friends in favor of "NEW AND EXCITING" ones. Can you imagine if, in the next season, Ash got his Charizard out of that badass training center and battled with it? Or if he went back home for Pigeot? And took Muk out of the PC? And maybe, just maybe, decided to reclaim his Bulbasaur and Squirtle for the sake of evolving them? And what if, over the course of the season, the audience was made to care about these Pokemon just as much as they would any other character of the show? Then, to top it off, at the end of the season they weren't released in favor of new ones. This is why the show is terrible. The constant recycling of Pokemon allows the creators to get away with this "Pokemon of the Day" formulaic nonsense; meanwhile, the viewers don't even care about anything, because every character and every Pokemon has been switched out at some point. The exception being Ash, Pikachu, and Brock, but even Brock left for a while, only to be replaced by that flat 2 dimensional artist everyone hated. If they were forced to keep the same characters, then they would have to allow those characters to grow beyond their static roles as "breeder," or "contest girl," and what have you. Oh, but I've digressed. When I want my Pokemon fix, I'll just stick to replaying firered.
