Do you guys use Savage Blow at 4th job?

From all the videos I've seen (before and after BB) the shadowers almost never used Savage Blow, most Assasination + Boomerang Step. So do Shadowers (of course 4th job) use Savage Blow?

I use sb a ton personally, after BB, i'll probably train the same since its fun using all my attacks even though bstep will be spamable.

SB is still a usefull skill and most of shadowers are still using it in 4th job 0.o

I think I know what confused you. Most of the high level shadower videos are bossing videos. For bossing, Assassinate/Bstep combo deals more damage than sb/bstep. For training purposes, SB remains useful for filling the current delay between bsteps.

Assassinate would be too slow to use in training, plus sb activates venom more, plus sb fills in the delay of bstep.

SB-bs>ds assassinate bs with se/not 4th hitting, 4th hitting being impractical and yielding a slightly higher dps output.

I find Savage Blow to be more useful even for bossing because it maximizes the number of Bstep you use DPM-wise. In the time it takes to deal 1 bstep+assasinate combo, you could have dealt about 2 bstep+ SB combos. The dmg would add up, plus it gives you more invincibility frames.

If there's a lone monster, attacking it with SB quickly should activate venom. Then you can run off and train normally and by the time you get back to that monster it should be low enough to 1-hit it. Currently, I only use SB to activate venom or when there's only 1 monster in front of me to fill in the delay for bstep. If there's 2 monsters, using BoT would be better (500% vs 480%). After the BB with bstep being spammable though we may not need to chain our moves together anymore, but that seems like we wouldn't be able to flow with our moves as much...we'd just be planted in one spot using bstep. Unless you jumped around of course :p After the BB SB will still have some uses. Combined with SP it will hit 12 times, which possibly means you'll have 12 chances to activate venom. But yeah, it may be less useful after the BB in fourth job

I still use SB as "insurance" on a single enemy only so I'm 100% sure it'll take 2 Bsteps to kill, also the 6-hit skill is still fun to use. Dunno about post-BB, will find some uses for that skyscraper of numbers though.

Well seeing how SB is still as fun as ever....but I do believe that using BoT between B-steps maximizes B-step usage over SB since after the balance patch. 2 BoT's is approximately (a little more than) the time span of 1 SB.

Savage Blow is especially useful with Thorns! Mmmm Thorns <3 SE too, but I found that Thorns seems to work much better! :3

So the new BoT does 395%, with bstep it's 420%. So against 1 monster SB would be better and against 2 or more BoT would be better, pretty much the same thing we have now more or less. But with bstep being spammable, is it even worth using an attack between them? Adding in an SB or BoT would only slow down your training, depending on the layout of the map and monsters. So SB won't have many uses as a chaining tech anymore, and it won't be needed at bosses after you get assassinate, so really I'm only seeing it useful for venom casting

There's a reason why it gets a 25% boost in attack only after the 4th job advancement.
