Making a shadower and I have a few questions

So I've always liked shadowers, but I haven't made one yet. I've usually stuck to warriors and mages. The Dragon Khanjar is my favorite item and with the BB coming I feel as if I should use it as an excuse to finally make one. I'm very dedicated to leveling jobs, and I'm able to get to fourth job as I've done it three times so far. Now, I have a 22/38/23/22 9% luk HTP and a 15/25/15/15 3%all stat scar helm. I have about 1.3b in mesos, and another 6-800m or so I can make off some items I have. My main concern is burning tons of pots. Do shadowers burn lots of pots? Oh, and how should I go with my base str/dex? (going to wear D. Khanjar) Here's the items I can get right now: 29str, 5dex, 4luk Osfa Top 10 str(or dex) 3atk PaC 22/38/23/22 9%luk HTP 15/25/15/15 3%all stat Scar Helm Lillin's ring 3 (3 to all) Master Adventurer Medal 12 dex earrings 15dex china pants Everything is unpotentialed except the helm and pendant.

I'm not a shad yet, or even maybe will I ever be. No, Shads do not burn a lot of pots. If your going to level it after the BB be warned that the only decent leveling skill (Meso Explosion) from 70 to until you get a decent level of Band of Thieves has been massively nerfed. It now has accuracy. I'd stick with 60 dex and 30 str. I'd go even lower if you could afford it.

shads?burn pots? BURN POTS? please make a shadower and enjoy 100 pot usage from 5 hrs. godly funded can go 60 base dex and ofc base str 4(funded well) the only con about shadowers are bossing. never wanted in boss runs ;( lost so much motivation hearing that because i fail at jq and managed to finish zjq on shad.

You don't need funding to be a successful Bandit. And no, pots are used up slowly.

I hardly burn any pots on my shad. Its all about learning control of your character though. It takes some people a little while to get used to using the iframes well. After BB though, Since bstep becomes spamable, Not really sure what will happen with control. As for capping dex/str, I ended up capping mine at 10/35. Doing that, I sacrifice a little damage though since im using an overall instead of top/bottom. Also, Im not able to use a pure atk cape or shoes. I really dont know how much I used to fund my shad but I really dont want to know. Haha.

Well, there's some items right now that I see and I can afford them. I could make a thief now and stay 8 base str and 37 base dex. That's with a top/bottom and no glove. However, if I buy these items.. I would have to have 8str and 37 dex until level 120 (that's when I can equip everything and have the required stats for D.Khanjar). Is that a good idea?

Well start small. As a Bandit you will burn pots since you have to be closer then the average melee class, along with the mediocre damage. As a Chief Bandit pot control varies on what type of training method you chose. Most Band of Thieves users use Pizza's (1k a pop) that have a good hp/mp ratio. Mesos Explosion users might use something to compensate the extra damage when they get hit by stronger (iir: Elder wraiths which is a 1hit KO). Assaulter is never really used , so moving on. Shadower's have the second highest avoid in the game (DEX brawlers being first), and 2 skills that give them ultimate avoid from almost every type of damage (Mesos guard acting as a back up if all else fails). Awesome equips. I think you may be able to stay STRless if you want. (you'll want a STR cape and Top) If you get a nice maple shield, you can stay dexless until level 120. Save up some SP from level 110ish-120, and allocate them as you get your dex/str equips would you mind telling us the equips you want to buy so we can plan out your hypothetical base STR/DEX?

Pots aren't really an issue, ever. Up until 8x it's little or no problem at all. If you go to Himes early, which you have the funding to do so, you will waste a crapload of mesoes and pots. But overall the pot drain isn't TOO massive.

And the shadower bandwagon begins. Jk i have a lvl 128 shadower and i assume your startin to level this new one due to the shadowers new dmg revamp. First off be excited it is a thrillin class with a unique playin style as opposed to click-hold-pot. Once you become a decent lvled shadower the amount of hp pots consumed os beyond low that at some points i bring five times as many mp pots with me then hp ones, mainly do to the shadowers skill that increases evasion probability to a very high precentage. Ontop of it being a fun, slow pot burning class, the shadower is pretty simple to set up stat wise as long as you choose to be a str dit. This way you are much stronger, you can afford to have drcently low dex, with virtually no base str as long as you are well equiped which it sounds like you are. Lastly enjoy the struggle of the shadower because it is a great class till 4th job and then it sucks due to crappy dps(aka not needed for bossing). Hopefully big bang will revert this sad fate and the shadowers will once again be a dominate job.
