The cold, hard, painful truth. And now it's making me kinda sad lol. I was talking to my friend Katie about concerts, and how I've only ever been to one, a few years back, with my friend for his birthday. And she promised to take me to a bunch, yadda yadda. So, she brought up how she's been to like, 40+ concerts this year alone, and spent "over $400 on concert tickets." Which, is a lot of money. I realized this. $400 is a lot of money. And she spent that much, on concert tickets. Something fun. And then it hit me. I've spent much more than that in the past year on NX. I always knew I was addicted. That's not what surprised me. I guess it was realizing, just HOW addicted I am. To the point where I would spend way too much money on something that's getting me nowhere. Jeezum crow. But, now that I'm aware of this, will I stop playing MapleStory? Will I stop buying NX? The truth: No, I'm not. I have my reasons for Mapling. I guess you can say it's a safe haven for me from all the drama in everyday life. Oh the irony in that statement. Sorry for the rant, just felt the need to get that out.. XD Call me an addict, insult me, go ahead. Or tell us how addicted you are. :D Whatever you guys want. I hand this thread over to Basil.

I found respite in admitting. Admitting is always a good step, after which you are responsible for your actions, realization will only get stronger and through this, perhaps you'll find your answer, if whether maple is fun, or just plain addictive. I find myself asking this question back then when I was at an all time high playing maple non-stop, I realized I was doing it because my body needed to, not because it was meant as a time killer or a leisure time. I hope you do get out of it and snap though, but take your time, forcing it will only make you come back quicker than lightning strikes.

It's all subjective IMO. While you called concerts fun, I personally wouldn't go to one even if you like paid me. So spending money on what YOU believe is fun is perfectly normal. Your friend just likes concerts while your interests are on Maple. As long as you balance it with school, work, and everyday life, then there's nothing wrong.

Ms is a drug. Stop while you can kiddos. It's ok, I feel like I'm in the same situation you are. Find something in your life worth doing, worth living for other than a video game. Ms is just a distraction preventing you from living out your life to the fullest extent.

The worst part is that I'm turning 19 at the end of this month :S But yeah, I was expecting more people to flame me and call me fat and lazy and to get a life.. xD I guess the fact that I actually have a job (a source of income) makes the spending of money on NX seem a little more... Justified? Even though I need to like.. Save up for a car, and college and stuff.. Which is a lot more important than some online game which has become my safe haven ;~;

I ll have to agree with daaznboi Playing Ms alot isnt really bad, however there must be a balance between everything you do, and that there will be times when you will just have to stop to things that matter in life and as far as spending money I ve sent around 500 bucks in watches wich is something not really getting me somewhere but is something I enjoy and as long as you are not stoping eating for NX then its all a matter of perspective, the only real way to call you addicted would be if you were to fail a class or skip school or stuff like that,
