Why does physical>magic?

It happens in most, or not all mmporg. Why does physical>magical? This is pre-BB, and evans do not count D:<(I think you know why) EDIT:*Flame shield on*

It's because mages are totally different from the regular classes, as in you can't really dmg-hoe to begin with (ultimates are slow, sorry D And uhm...well, the BB is just to fix this since mages are falling in popularity O.o;

Flame shield doesn't work. Why? maybe because mages can teleport, is long-ranged, and has a ton of different skills.

Um, well naturally im not sure but in maplestory, its easier to get attk workgloves then to get M.Attk workgloves.

Mages in most games tend to be the AoE and elemental characters.

Its sad comparing Maple with most of the other [better] MMOs out there.. here, you basically do more damage if you buy skills with NX (Cashshop skillbooks). Whereas on typical MMOs like WoW etc, magic classes follow a 'glass cannon' setup, meaning high damage, low armor/survivability whereas physical classes are the 'survive and control', meaning a playstyle where they lock targets down by staying close range and putting down effective slow debuffs. Magic classes also tend to usually have the best multi-target damage, unlike Maplestory where melee beats mages in mobbing until 4th job and ultimates.

cause they have more options in terms of training o.0. they have no minimum range yet can attack long range and are good mobbers.
