Strength vs. Luck and if it's worth it

I searched for this in the forum, and am pretty sure it's been asked before, but I couldn't find it for some reason. I have a lvl 93 cb whose dex I capped at 90. It seems like everyone is converting to strength at one point or another in their cb/shadower-hood. Should I convert if I can get a khanjar, but not scroll it? Would I do more damage with it than if I stayed a low dex luck dit with a 13 luck panlid (yea I know it sucks, but it was scrolled like two yrs ago)? The atk shields for being a luck dit are really expensive and outside of my budget (150mil). Also, should I get some Str equips with %luck potential to help me get enough Str if I do convert? I don't plan on using my whole budget on my cb since I want to get my ranger to 120 and get a good bow for him. I eventually want to get my cb to 120, just don't know when since I'm really busy with school.

Splitting your budget is tough. I'd just stay LUK until you can get a D-Khanjar, to save a little money. And you're probably gonna need some luck getting that D-Khanjar. STR is typically better.

Rayquaza: Should have checked the guides, heh, sorry about that; thanks for the link. So even with all the potential Luck% gear and the ap not put into Luck if you go Str, Str still beats out luck from +120?

Clean Dragon khanjars are 100m in scania and they are very rare to find in FM =0 people tend to sell them on mts

If you can get a khanjar/dragon khanjar, yes. Dragon Khanjars in particular are level 120 and as such get better potential bonuses than a shield below level 120.

just stay the way u are, 150m is not good enough for a str dit, dragon khanjars are just too expensive these days

Correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt LUK Shadower beat STR shadower these days Expense/Range-wise? Since a 12atk wristguard is 250m and a clean Dragon Khanjar(only 3atk more(avg)) is ~150m? Buying the 12atk shield would mean you can put a lot of points into luk instead of str.

[/quote] i believe str vs luk threads aren't allowed and they get locked. perhaps that's why you can't find str vs luk threads. we do have guides that talk about builds though. if you want info, just look at the stickies, they're there for a reason.

[/quote] The wristguard is scrolled, the khanjar is clean. And the stats you add to your str is negligible With the same base dex, i only have 26 less ap in luk than a luk bandit my level

Since the gold box event has long passed, DKhanjars are becoming more expensive again. For this reason, I would only advise converting if you are able to afford scrolling the shield as well. Just about all of the strongest Shadowers in GMS (only 1 exception comes to mind) are Str because they are the strongest with maximum funding. For the TS, it sounds like you do not have a lot of mesos to spend; I would say stick to being luck for now.

Really, with dual stat items (zhelm, belts, medals, rings, earrings, potential all stat) Its really easy to knock off 30-40 of the 75 required. Thats only 30 more luk and 30 luk =/= 15 wep attk, so its really in your best interest to go str. What I would recomend doing is to slowly accumliate str equips until you can hold it, then save up for the dkhanjar. You have 107 levels in which to convert. It doesnt need to be done right now.

LUK bandits just got a temporary boost with the level 87/107 thief shields from the alien PQ while the supply is still around. They too can now have a shield that can have decent potential stats that isn't so rare and expensive that you'd be afraid to boom one with a 70%. Truthfully I'm not sure it even matters any more in terms of practical application of the Bandit/CB/Shadower class. The omghugegap between STR and LUK no longer exists now.

[/quote] well you still have to look at the fact that the new shields only have 7 slots
