I don't usually make threads about relligion, but here it goes So I was having a debate on another forum about the mosque that's going to be built in ground 0. And I said that musmils weren't so bad, and according to gthe quoran(the sacred book, not sure how to spell it), if a muslim murders someone, he's considered an extremist, and is no longuer considered a muslim. But then a guy said this: Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them(2:191) Make war on the infidels living in your neighboorhood (9:123) When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them (9:5) Kill the Jews and the Christians if they do not convert to Islam or refuse to pay Jizya tax (9:29) Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable (3:85) My question is, IS it true?

um buddy, may i ask u this? the quaran was originally written in arabic right? now if u translate those arabic words they could come to something very extreme or something not so extreme. ur friend quoted pretty much the extreme def. yessir i r muslimz

The translation is wrong. No, it is not true, but, you can defend yourself if they attack your religion (i.e Palestine war).

Umm. someone posted the site about it, and in the first couple pages it says- all those who believe will deserve heaven, the jews, muslims, christians, and pagans (people who worship one god) so, the guy lied.

Islam is TOTALLY against murdering/suicide and that crap. If a muslim commits a crime like that, its not cause of his religion but he himself, many racists/islamaphobes fail to recognise that. The last quotation is kinda right, obviously if you are a muslim you will believe islam is the right religion and the other religions are not but you still wont make "war" with the other religions.

People who dont know how to speak arabic dont know how to say the word "Quran". Actually its impossible to write it using english letters because the arabic letter "Qaaf" isnt able to be pronounced in the english language. So instead, people just write it as Koran to make their lives much easier.
