What are your thoughts on them?

That they should be kept away from the public. I've seen how much damage school does to them. Now he just gets laughed at when he says the only things he has learnt in schools - Insults and swears. I'm not sure what "Authistic" is, so I assumed you meant "Autistic".

Seriously, I'm all up for promoting autistic or mentally disabled children to be able to coincide with the public. However, no matter how anyone looks at it, they will be made fun of no matter where they go, especially in a public school. My school has a special education service and we have 4 teachers hired specifically for the special ed kids. Even then, they're bullied by one or two people every several days, and what's their reaction? A lot worse than you can imagine. I don't mind coinciding with autistic or mentally challenged people. However, placing them in a place where they don't gain much aside from "hey look I'm with everyone else!" while also gaining a LOT of insults won't help at all. And yes, I agree to @Heatless, stop reposting topics that have been posted many times... within the last hour.. above I don't think using 8th grade vocabulary will encourage anyone to get out. If you don't like a post, either provide proof and argue against it or just not at all.

My cousin is autistic, and he goes to a private institution. I'm glad he does. I mean in my town the Sp-ED kids interact with the rest of us through a club called Best Buddies, otherwise they are kept away from us in the classroom. I can imagine the conflicts there would be if they were integrated. I just think it's important to recognize there is an autism spectrum, and that we shouldn't just hide them from the rest of the world. This is going to sound douchy, but they need to be separated from the public. The world is full of a-holes, and the autistic kids will always be judged, looked down upon, or made fun of.
