How can i approach people white feeling a creep

so i am at a new school and i need to make friends. My question is how can i approach people/talk to them and being friends without them thinking i am a creep. Like what will be a friendly way to start a convo and then onto being a friend. i really need to make friends sinc ei moved to a new school/place and i feel lonely :/

Depending on the looks they might just shoo you off if you dont look good or some people (like my friends) will just tell u to gtf0 because they dont know you. For the most part theyll most likely talk back, if your in the bus or cafeteria asking them there grade/classes works to get a conversation.

Talk to people near you in class. Chances are you have a higher chance of making a friend that way rather than talking to random strangers outside of class.

Just greet everyone around you nicely like "hey Im _____ Whats your name?" (He/She says their names) Then you say "nice to meet you" and then you make light conversations about how your new in the school. Then you could talk about whats happening around you (like during class) or tell your hobbies/ interests or you can just listen to the other person babble about nonsense since thats what girls do. So by now, if your conversation is going smoothly and you feel really friendly around the person, just be like "can I hang out with you at lunch?" Then yea, you got a friend. Also you can try to get into some extracurricular activities like Tennis/Basketball/Football/Cross country. You don't really have to be good at the sport at all to join.
