For three years of my life i went off and on playing maplestory. It was a total waste. People say they play because they have nothing better to do, they can, and because it eats up time and is addicting. I have only seen a few people state the right reason that they sometimes play because its fun. For me, i wasted those times on my life although i did have fun. Now i actually do real stuff outside of a virtual word designed to take your money. The only reason i really played right before i quit was because the people i know and love to play with, i didnt wanna let them go. So now i go onto maplestory every couple days when im not busy just to check in. When i quit everything good started happening to me. I got the girl i was dreaming of, i work out every other day, my grades went way up, i have gotten literaly hundreds of new friends, and i have become more responsible. Of course you could say "Thats because your 14 now and not 12 which is the age of most people play." But the fact is, Most people that play are around 16 and those who are 12 shouldnt fall into computer addiction and instead spend there childhood days doing something real. Only Joy and happiness in someones life will bring out even more despair and sadness. I AM OR WAS NEVER ADDICTED, I AM JUST SAYING THATS THE REASON MOST PEOPLE PLAY. Dont say you only play an hour a day so its ok, no matter how much you play you could be doing something else.

You are very right... I always wish i never started.. I think we can all agree that we would probably more likely be better people (IRL) if we were never introduced to maple...

I don't spend a cent on maple story. Though I do find grinding for hours on end boring, I find fun in other things, such as pointless event, Mini games like omok (I miss my omok board :s) and the Pyramid, and lazily meandering around the world. Mabinogi on the other had, I find, consumes a fair share of my money, around 25 to thrity bucks every month and a half to two months, but I also find it more fun. I have more active friends there, despite having a fairly active guild on MS, and enjoy fighting and the scenery there.

I'm happy and I was when I started to play Maple. I DO play a lot, but you can't find me on weekends in my house because I'm hanging with my real life friends. Like everyone esle says "Real Life>Maple Life"

I still play Maplestory, but not as much because I've started school and I'm not always home after school or on the weekend. It's always been like this though. I put my real life before my Maple life. I think that's the way it should be, because you should never let a game take over 100% of your life.

Maple is like any other game, you play it to eat away time and to have fun before you get bored. Of course, there are some games you might be some what proud of playing that you really enjoyed but overall, your just a teen or mid-adult. Enjoy it until your forced to think about living on your own.

All you have to do is know how to time manage. I'm 18 years old, have an amazing girlfriend, am in college (lowest grade is a 85), no longer have a job because of college, have a good number of friends, work out daily, but I can still find time to play maple. It's a fun little game and it helps us get rid of some stress. I've spent about $100 on maple, but if I didn't I probably would have used it on other games anyways. So once again, all you have to do is have a little time management.

depending on whether or not maple was a waste of someone's life is really an opinion. i personally don't regret playing maplestory for 5 years. Their have been multiple times where i took breaks from maple. but id have to say it depends on someone's personal life style. i do work, i have my friends, i have my gf, i own a car, and i already own my own house.(may be hard for most people to believe) and im only 18. i find maple to be a great pass time to have fun and enjoy one's self whether its training, bossing, or just being on because of friends. but their is a point to where an addiction can occur, but it only lasts for so long. even if your a young teen or child. don't feel like you've been wasting your life on maple. sooner or later you will realize life does get boring. it's great to have maple as an escape. personally deep down i don't think people find maple to have really been a waste of their life.
