Heard about this a few months ago, didn't think to look it up untill I recalled it today, it's quite interesting actually, check it out: Peter Rogers at Britain's Bristol University did the study: Rogers and his team asked 379 participants to abstain from caffeine for 16 hours, then gave half of them caffeine pills and half of them placebos. Both heavy and low caffeine users were more alert after taking the caffeine pills (equivalent to 1-2 cups, then 2-3 cups' worth an hour and a half later) � but none of them were more alert than non-caffeine users who took the placebo. Heavy caffeine users who got placebos had the lowest levels of alertness. News source , Official journal . So, what do you think? Why do you drink your Coffee and/or caffeinated beverages? Vote below as relevant to your situation and expound by your comment(s) . As for me personally, I'm not a coffee and/or caffeine drinker, although I used to regularly enjoy mountain dew going on 2+ years ago. Do note that caffeine is a drug (duh), as such, there are many negative effects that by far, outweigh the logic of having it simply for the taste. If the taste is the main issue, my recommendation would be to try decaffeinated alternatives.
