Dealing with Change :/

Highschool recently started and I've been feeling really insecure. Today was the first day and I met some new people, but none of them were people that I felt like I could be great friends with. I'm not socially awkward, I can have a conversation, I had lots today, but I still dont really feel like im at the right place. I'm missing middle school alot, the kids i had in my school, and i guess everything about how life used to be. Today i formed a group of 5 friends, and we get along well, but I still dont know :/ is everyones highschool experience like this at first? I dont know if i'm being too quick to judge, I hope I am, cause so far its not going too great for me :/ P.S. I know my first day coulda been alot worse, in fact I dont even consider it 'bad'. For some reason I'm just down :/ I'm wondering if this is something i'll get over or if its something I'll always have to deal with

I know the feeling. Don't worry about it too much, if you have no problem having conversations then you'll definitely be okay. It just takes time to get to know people well enough to feel really comfortable around them. The only thing you can do is invest time and effort, try new things, meet up with people as often as you can; that'll definitely speed things up

You're down because you're feeling uneasy. During my first 2 weeks in high school I would be so nervous every day that my stomach would hurt. But I'm in my last year now, and I made lots of good friends and plenty of beautiful memories. Give it time, and try to enjoy it as much as you can.

That's normal, it's the case for most freshman on their first day. Or two. Or three. You'll adjust in a few weeks. I'll admit, I felt more at home with my friends from middle school than high school most of freshman year.

If I can do it, then you can to ^_^.

You'll make friends and get used to it with time. Even the loners end up making a couple friends.
