It's normal speed, unlike the vast majority of polearms, which are slow. The only normal speed polearms are the Maple scorpio and karstan, nine dragons, arcglaive, and i believe a surfboard.

speed is the best thing for aran more weapon speed = faster attacking = faster racking up combo = faster combo crit + 10 att boost = win arcglaive is one of the best 3 endgame weapons in terms of speed 1st being purple surf, then arcglaive, then karstan

[quote] xbelievable : So people prefer a arcglaive over a zedbug? o-o [/quote] its the speed. all high level standard polearms are all slow speed, so they take longer to get combos with. arglaives have a high speed, good base damage, plus it looks quite cool. there is the fact that faster kbing of mobs leads to less damage taken, plus getting combos faster raises your attack more, which means more damage earlier. slower polearms are better for bossing though. also, about that karstan you mentioned, its not that good, unless you made a typo and it is actually 89 attack. either way, just 89 attack isnt enough. it should at least be 9x+ to last you long AznAegis he definitely means karstan, scorpios have only 30 acc

You sure you don't mean scorpio or some other polearm, because the average att for a Karstan I believe is 85. And yes speed > damage because later on in your higher levels you will want that extra dpm.
