| I've heard some people say how they made slow weapons for bossing. Is there any use for this? Is it better than using a faster weapon in any way? If it is, what makes using a slow weapon so good for bossing? |

| Slow weapons are slower but tend to hit "harder" aka more damage. Faster weapons are faster but tend to hit "less" aka less damage. |

| Well, combos are a major thing. Combos=highest damage. Now you see in training, you constantly lose your combo. This is because monster spawns and lack of them, it's really not the place to try and keep up a 100+ combo forever with a slow weapon. A fast weapon builds up the combos quicker, meaning you lose alot, you gain it back quickly. In bossing, there is always one target you can reliably hit. So if you use a slow weapon, once you get past 100 combos, you could be doing higher damage. (It's like a race. One car has amazing acceleration compared to the other, meaning it's good for turns and stuff. The other has slower acceleration, but once it gets up to speed, it's really fast, faster then the other car, and on long, flat, predictable stretches, it's better.) |

| Dont you usually get SI in boss runs which equal slow pole arms to get faster speeds? |

|
roymarth13 : Dont you usually get SI in boss runs which equal slow pole arms to get faster speeds?
This is why normal speed weapons can work well in boss runs. When you're at a boss run often you get si which will allow you to hit speed cap since normal speed weaps have a speed of 6 and speed cap is 2. If psb comes out, it'll be optimal since it will do well in bossing and training and it is only 3 att lower than arcglaive clean, which is more than made up for by its faster speed when you solo with it. But in a boss run, since the normal speed weap will hit speed cap with the psb the arcglaive might hav a very slight advantage if scrolled better. Now slow weaps on the other hand don't hit speed cap so it's better to go with a normal or faster weapon. Another factor to consider is that, arans have to reach certain combo thresholds to attain crits or higher damage. A faster weap will bring you to that threshold faster, and in some cases you get hit less with faster weaps since you kb the monster more faster. Edit: Okay, I looked back at arans skills table and apparently the booster subtracts 3 speed so anyting 7 speed and lower will hit speed cap in a boss run, but a normal or faster weap is still better for training and soloing. |

| What about booster+SI? Wouldn't that make it pretty useful? |

|
Mclena : What about booster+SI? Wouldn't that make it pretty useful?
I heard SI only works for those that it can completely affect. Like people with at least speed 4. Aran's Booster increases speed by 3, so(correct me if I'm wrong) but Booster+SI only works for Aran when he has a Slow 7/8, or Slower 9 Polearm. Buuut that's make slower Polearms pretty beastly in bossing. :o |

The only thing you need to note about si is that, it won't bring your speed below 2, but that's standard with anything since speed is capped at 2. |

| heyhey1yoyo That's what I meant. You can't very well use SI if you're using a PSB or a Super Snowboard, now can you? |

| I've never understood the concept of slow weapons for bossing. The difference will be a bit smaller since your combo will be over 100 a lot. But a Normal (6) weapon is still 18.81% faster than a Slow (8) weapon, so unless the slow (8) weapon has 18.81%+ more damage the Normal (6) weapon will be better. If you use an Onyx Apple the Normal (6) weapon will destroy the Slow (8) weapon in DPM. |
