Question on Item Locking

So I'm having a hard time grasping the concept of item locking. Why would you bother locking an item? Is it really that difficult to NOT trade it? Halp explain plox :D

In case you give away your account info, or let a person play on your account, or in case you get hacked. It's just a safegaurd. if you have an extremely godly weapon or something. (like BSCULA's dragon faltizan )

It's just so obvious, if it only costs about 30m to lock an item for a year and the item is worth well over a billion measars then you'd be stupid not to. Second question about locking: If you lock it can you still transfer between characters through storage?

Thanks for hijacking my thread f3. See this still makes no sense to me. I feel like as long as you don't tell people you have this zOMGODLY item, you'd be completely safe from the tiny chance you have of getting hacked. It just seems like such a waste of mesorz to me. All you really have to do is not be an idiot. Don't drop your godly weapon, don't npc your godly weapon, don't Smega your godly weapon (nobody really cares anyways) and you'll be fine. Is that really so hard? f3

I locked one of my items. For me, it's a worthwhile investment, especially since I have been hacked before. Nexon really should give out locks for free, though.

Every time you post on basil market you risk being hacked on not just the account that's posting but every account that logs into that IP. Be safe all you want but as long as the internet is connected to your computer you're not safe.

Yeah, the problem is, I've heard of people putting Item Locks on things in case they get hacked and when they did get hacked, they just deleted their character. =/
