| Everything is about studying my butt off to get a 95 AT THE MINIMUM. I have to become a doctor and I have to supposedly "enjoy" learning, which I hate. I'm in 10th grade, and my classes are: Spanish 2 Gifted Lit AP World GAM2 (gifted accelerated math 2) AP Biology Gifted Chem Next year I have to take 6 AP classes, all which they're expecting 95s+ Today, I got a 89 on a chemistry quiz (because our teacher can't word things properly at all and wouldn't accept the answer "hour" for the question "what does c-133 (not carbon, some other element; I forgot the letters) provide in units," where the answer was 'seconds' but it never said SI unit." After telling my mom, she gave me a half an hour lecture just on the phone and told me to start studying (as usual..) Did I mention that in 9th grade, we had an EOCT (end of course test) in Biology like many other classes, and I had to review and she asked me specific questions on all 34 chapters in 2 DAYS (saturday and sunday). I literally got no sleep that weekend. I don't think I can handle this anymore. I've tried talking to them, but I'm way too scared to tell them I just don't want to study anymore, because every time I say something intrepreted as stupid, I get my yelled at for so long, as well as physical abuse. Edit: oops wrong section. Would a mod kindly move this thread to chat or whatever this is appropriate for? |

| Reserved because I can, and because I'm Indian too. I somewhat feel for you. I felt for you before, but now I'm going into 10th grade too. I never study, but I pull off [almost] all 98+ grades (stupid French with a 95). I can assume that "Gifted" in your school = "Honors" in my school. I'm taking: Honors French 4 (not a typo, we have French and Spanish 1-6). Honors English Honors Chemistry AP Biology Honors Precalculus AP World History My parents dont care about me as long as my grades are 95+. It's actually quite easy IMO, but thats partially because I can remember most things the first time. |
