| Well before I tell you what happened, I 100% agree that my friend was a major IDIOT for bringing his expensive watch to school. Not sure of the price, but he tells me close to $1000 because it was a gift, blah blah. *Skip to the very bottom to see why I started this thread* So yeah. Here is the story. Well my "friend", who's not really my friend yet (hes a new kid who moved when school started). He moved from some rich area in Glendale, California, to my average city of Denver. Anyways, my "friend" who I will call Doug, started to boast about this watch he had. I just sat back and watched as he was yelling at people who didn't believe him. Most of them didn't, including myself, so he decided to do something stupid the next day (which was Today), bring it to school Yeah... guess the outcome. it's a pretty nice watch, if you ask me. It's silver, with some gold accents, and yeah, I'm not a watch expert or anything, but it sure looks like somebody would want to steal it. And someone did. Now Doug, who barely knew anyone at school, didn't know that the majority of our 1,900 population school would eye his watch and cuss to themselves. He just wanted to play "Told ya so", but really was asking for it. So it happened in gym. We just got done with lifting, so I hit the showers. But before that, Doug came screaming to me shouting about his watch getting stolen, how he was scared his dad was gonna kill him, 'Yada-yada'. So I ran over and saw that his gym lock was broken, probably by some other object, and the little box where his watch was placed before, did not contain it anymore. SHOCKER! Well, nobody knows who stole it. Maybe tomorrow the idiot who did steal it would start wearing it to school...yeah probably not. But now, Doug got the dean involved and his family is thinking about filing a police report. Things are getting WAY out of hand, in my opinion, just because Doug was a huge idiot! ....But anyways, I'm just afraid things are gonna go downhill. That Doug is going to make new enemies, or that the police will come and search lockers, or do something crazy just because of this one watch. Now I want to help my friend with this situation, because in a way I feel bad for him since he's the new kid. Any advice will be good, hopefully the police would help and this will all be good. |
