If that's not a right triangle, you have to use trig. And as the guy above me said, if there's no angles included the question is impossible unless you physically measure it.

This is the Pythagorean Theorem. a^2 + b^2 = c^2 Since you know what a and b are, plug in the variables So now you have... 3^2 + 4^2 = c^2 which turns into 9 + 16 = c^2 25 = c^2 Then you just square root the whole equation You end up with c = 5

If you know one of the angles, you can re-arrange the Cosine Law to solve for C.

5, if its a right triangle. a^2 + b^2 = c^2 3^2 + 4^2 = c^2 9 + 16 = 25 -forgets square roots symbol- 25 = 5 If its not a right triangle, thats a misleading triangle.
