Help me, please? 9x(squared) - 18x - 7.

You find the factors of 9 and the factors of 7, and you combine them in a way to get -18. I don't think there's really a shortcut for factoring :/

i line up the multiples for the first # and the third #, (9 and 7) so theres 3x3, 1x9 and 1x7 now i make a criss cross multiplying in attempts to get the middle #, possibly making the 1 or 7 negative. so -7x3 + 1x3 = -21 + 3 = -18. Then put it together (3x -7)(3x+1). Its hard to explain like this. lol

9x^2 - 18x - 7 P= -63, S= -18 Factors: -21, +3 = 9x^2 -21x + 3x - 7 = 3x (3x - 7) + 1 ( 3x - 7) = (3x + 1)(3x -7)
