so I'm going to my local free yu-gi-oh tournament for the first time. I only play casually and I doubt I'll get into the top but I just want try and see how the pros play like. I'm going to use apprentice macro monarch (macro monarch + apprentice magician engine ). Total cards: 40 Monster: 3 Caius the Shadow Monarch 3 Thestalos 1 Mobius 3 D.D Survivor 3 Apprentice Magician 2 Old Vindictive Magician 1 Crystal Seer 1 Frequency Magician (lv 2 tuner spellcaster) 1 Rose, Warrior of Revenge (lv 4 tuner warrior rota) 1 D.D. Crystal seer is better for slow control decks, but this is a fast format this meta. Dark hole is banned..? isn't it? Mirror force if you can get it. Lose the soul exchange for Brain Control. It's much better in the current format where every deck is extremely fast. -1 D.D. Warrior Lady (a very slow 1for1) I don't remember perfectly, but I think this is the Macro Monarch I used at nationals (was trying to win in Last Chance Qualifiers but I ended up not working because I got the WORSt draws ever (3 macro 2 fissure 3 tributes) or I was being lazy and not signing up right away for one. Total: 39 Monsters: 21 1 Mobius the Frost Monarch 3 Caius the Shadow Monarch 2 Raiza the Storm Monarch 1 Dark Dust Spirit 3 D.D. Survivor 3 D.D. Scout Plane 3 Cyber Valley 1 Strike Ninja (very versatile. Attack without caring, remove whenever you want to get your scouts at any point in time. 1 Cannon Soldier (trust me it's amazing..) 1 Marshmallon 1 Spirit Reaper 1 Morphing Jar Spells: 7 3 Dimensional Fissure 1 Reinforcements of the Army 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Brain Control Traps: 11 3 Macro Cosmos 3 Sakuretsu Armor 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Mirror Force 1 Torrential Tribute 1 Trap Dustshoot I don't remember what my other card was in the deck.. but I can assure you it was a good card! If you wanna fix tuners into it.. I dunno how, but I'm sure you could find a way. Could make it more machine-y and take out a Dimension Fissure for two black salvos.. You shouldn't really need Tuners much though, the deck's really anti-meta. EDIT: this is pre September Ban List. No clue what it looks like. Wow.. Dark hole comes back..lol With a new format, I suggest trying to go for a Macro Control. And, trust me, burn damage from Cannon Soldier is amazing. 2600 each turn with a defense mode cannon soldier + two scout planes? amazing. And, trust me, your opponent does anything they can to get rid of it..lol. A waste of removal.
