Lol so ok yesterday was my last day on vacation in Korea, and having still around 400$ left, I decided to go last minute shopping via the subway to a huuuge shopping district called Dongdaemun Market. Last minute, I get a call from my dad, who has landed in Korea a few days ago for a business trip, asking to go with him to various parts of Seoul for sightseeing. I told him I was going shopping and he told me he would come with me. Now usually I never go shopping with my parents but this was my last day in Korea so I agreed. Couldn't be that bad, I thought. IT WAS, MAN. FRICK, SO AS WE WALK INTO A SHOPPING MALL (called Migliore) AND WENT ON THE ESCALATORS I FIXED MY HAIR, THAT HAD BEEN BLOWN TO THE SIDE BY THE WIND. MY DAD'S LIKE, 'WHAT THE GAY, SON DON'T FIX YOUR HAIR LIKE A GIRL' so at this point I'm still cool, like 'ok, alright' and then when we get to the Men's section I see enough clothes for 20 guys to wear for the rest of their lives and I'm like having a visual orgasm. Thing about this place is that, even though the clothes are great, they are from less well known brands but doesn't really matter. All the shop owners try to hard to drag you in and keep talking to you like 'OH MAN YO HANDSOME DUDE COME HERE AND LOOK AT MY JEANS MAN OH WAIT DON'T LEAVE MAN YO YOU GOTTA TRY THESE ON' and you can haggle for price lowering. So I try a pair of washed blue jeans on and I like them. The dude's like, 'it's originally 55$ but I'll give it to you for 45$. (This is one of their many marketing strategies there) so I'm like, 'hey I saw better ones over there for 40$' and eventually I lower it to 40$. I mean, a decent pair of jeans for 40$ is great, even in asian standards, so I'm like 'taken' and as I try to buy it my dad's like '30$' and the guy's like 'the original price is 35$, so I'd be losing 5$ if I gave it to you that low.' and they start talking and my dad starts yelling and crap like 'I KNOW U R LYING I KNOW UR STRATEGIES SO JUST GIVE FOR 30$ OK?' and being a cheap dad. So I'm still keeping my cool and trying to tell him it's a good price and then eventually he gathers the attention of everyone one the dam floor and all the other store owners are laughing and crap, and I'm like, hell, let's just buy these and get out. but NO, MY DAD NEEDS TO BE LIKE MR. KRABS AND KEEP ARGUING. GOD DAMN. so eventually he bought it for 40$ and we walked out and I didn't feel like shopping anymore even though I still had 400$ left so we just went home and MORAL OF THE STORY: NEVER GIVE YOUR ASIAN PARENTS A CHANCE WHEN THEY WANNA GO SHOPPING WITH YOU

I don't like going shopping with my mom because she flips out if I buy somethign that isn't marked down. She insists that I wait a couple weeks because "EVERYTHING goes on clearance eventually!" - which obviously isn't true... sometimes you can find something good on clearance but most of the time the clearance stuff is the ugly stuff that nobody wants, or comes in too big/too small sizes. -_-

What are you talking about? I like bringing my mom along with me to haggle things, she can lower prices more then 50% almost every time. That's the upside to having scary Asians argue about prices, the louder one always wins. =x I can haggle, but I only go to like 30~40% before I can't get them to lower it anymore. I think it's just you man. Good luck with that. And, don't always think of spending all your money just because you are running out of time on vacation. You can always go back some other time rather then spend it all at one place at one time. oresama She knows what I'm talking about. ^__^ shayn Ahahaha. My mom likes to do that to me too, but in the end I just pick my own clothes and she likes it.
