kirayamato26So with the introduction of the Big Bang patch, Nexon has finally done one thing right - make my life a hell lot easier at doing calculations between 1H and 2H weapons. Assuming that your STR and DEX changes by a negligible amount switching from a 1H to 2H setup, then whatever total attack 1H setup you have is equivalent to that same total attack 2H setup in DPM. Why do I say that? Because if your STR and DEX barely changes when switching between the 2 setups, then the only multiplier that matters is the weapon multiplier, 1.20 for 1H, 1.32 for 2H. Going from 1H to 2H will get you this: 1.20 / 1.32 * 90 / 82 = 450/451 Which means that if you have a 451 attack 1H setup, it would match a 450 attack 2H setup. However, since most people have less than 250 total attack, and they get more STR from a 1H setup, the difference can be neglected and therefore, whatever total attack your 1H setup is will match the DPM of a 2H setup with the same total attack.

In other words, nexon is either retarded in balancing out weapons, or they want every warrior to use a sword and shield while leaving everyone else who doesnt want to follow to be inferior. In 1h Axes vs 1h BW vs 1h Swords, swords are simply superior. They all use the same multiplier, but swords are superior because of speed. The same applie to 2h swords, except many 2h BW and 2h Axes later on seem to be normal speed, and the 2h weapons seem equal at time from this. Then when you compare 1h swords vs. 2h swords, generally the 1h weapons are simply superior now. As she proved, normal 2h swords are the same as a normal 1h sword without a shield, but since the 1h sword has the option of a shield... it is vastly superior now. The same applies to BWs. For 1h axes vs 2h axes, at least the strongest axes are equal in speed, so the 2h axe actually has an advantage in comparison to the 1h. In fact, the 2h axes are also balanced with 2h swords now. Too bad 1h swords blow every single other weapon out of the water now with vastly superior speed. That probably is hard to read since I'm tired. So just look at this table: Speed Advantage: Slow 7: x75/81 Normal: x1 Fast 5: x75/69 Fast 4: x75/63 Weapon Multipliers: 1h: 1.2 2h: 1.32 Weapon multipliers adjusted for speed: 1h Sword: 1.304 2h Sword: 1.32 1h BW: 1.2 2h BW: 1.222... 1h Axe: 1.2 2h Axe: 1.32 Looking at this, its obvious that 2h Axes and 2h Swords have the best mulipliers with 1h swords at a very close second, but if you factor in the possibility of a shield, then the 1h sword is superior, even if the shield is crappy or even has a 1% str boost. The same issue exists with 1h and 2h BWs, except they are slower. At least with the 1h vs 2h axes, they are balanced with eachother, but they suck when compared to 1h swords. Not to mention, the 1.1 advantage a ST or other 2h sword would have with SE factored in is easily overcome in comparison to now. To me, it just sucks that nexon had to make a terrible mistake when doing the big bang. Weapon choices should be balanced to promote people playing their own way. Right now, it just seems like 1h sword and shield is the only way to go. Everyone not doing so is hurting themselves. They need to justify 2h users losing their shield slot now... a <1% dpm advantage over a shieldless 1h user does not justify the loss of the shield slot. Although, yes it is at least easier to compare weapons now that mastery affects every part of the damage formula and not just Str. Anyway L> Nexon's non-existant brain. Edit: I compared the speeds of the reverse weapons.

2h sword users should have more power than a 1h sword imo. I mean im quite sure a huge claymore will inflict more damage than a short sword. However the 1h sword should get their own set of defense ability from shields. Ex: Lv 120 Shield - 50% chance of blocking all attacks-

You gotta think right, big bang was introduced only by kms. Korean nexon never fails. Come on, they were able to identify and resolve 98% of all those hacking related issues. Kms is very clean now, people actually enjoy playing in it. Their server checks last like only 2-3 hours too. So far north American nexon hasn't done anything at all yet, relating to big bang.
The difference is actually huge. I don't know about the States or somewhere else, but here in Canada, when we are doing calculations in math, we must use as many digits as possible (if it's irrational, use a calculator variable to store it), and the final answer, if it can't be expressed nicely, must be written with the full 10 digit display on the calculator. If your answer is off even on the 10th decimal place, it is considered wrong. =P I mean, launching a satellite into orbit and having some sort of error in the 10th decimal place can potentially cause the satellite to just fall back down to Earth or fly off into another stellar system. Edit: Where the heck are you getting your speeds? O_O Unless they are without booster... but I don't see why anyone would not use booster. The accepted reference speeds are (with booster): Fast 4 - 100 Fast 5 - 90 Normal 6 - 82 Slow 7 - 80 Slow 8 - 74
In science, however, you use a thing called significant figures, and not all the digits you can, and this uncludes a form of rounding (well, actually you drop all values that are not considered significant). Also, small differences with rounding are near insignificant in one multiplication. Its after several mathematical processes where rounding becomes an issue.
