Many users are complaining at the moment that they got whispered by a Gamemaster. oblivious this is fake. there is a hack going around. 1 a GM contacting a player is rare, and if they do, it's only for fun. also they wont ask you to do ANYTHING related to your items. 2 There is a hack going around that users cann send: Message box'es, Blue Text, White Black text [gm chat] in the game, if you dont believe it check the web yourself! 3 Gm's will never contact you inside the game about a illegal or duped item. They will remove the item in a Server Check 4 Gm's never got GM in their name.. fact: Never ever believe whispers no matter what if you think someone is trying to scam you just press the report button! i know it takes years before they get banned but still.. this option isnt there for nothing! There are no such things as gm's whispering you to drop items etc, if you got a illegal/duped item they will remove it during a Server check never ever believe whispers from a "gm" they dont exist and even if they do they wont contact you for a illegal item or so. (ofc the above line was a joke.) i hope i informated you guys enough to stop making threads like "Omg i got whispered by a gm" etc etc Sorry about my sucky english but i just wanted to inform you guys ;) thx for reading and happy mapling. F3 edit added this because we all know this guy is kinda right, [quote] SilverFoxR : GMs aren't "too lazy" to make contact - they're too busy trying to do their jobs from behind the scenes. Seriously, don't try to BS people... simply put, a GM contacting a player is rare, and if they do, it's only for fun. The important thing to remember if a person claiming to be a GM begins talking to you is that for no reason whatsoever will a GM ask to give up your items, mesos and more importantly, personal information. This is stated in various "[Maple Tip]"s (the yellow text you probably almost never read since the game began). If a GM asks you for any personal info or items/mesos, they are fake GMs attempting to scam you. Remember, moderators do not have to ask your permission to take items, nor do they need to find you demanding they do. They do not need to come online to get your login information or any personal information related to the game. They are employees of the company that controls the game. They already have access to that information and can take anything they want from you (account included) without ever having to see you in-game. If they want to take an item from you (mainly because it'd be glitched or whatever), they'd make sure you were offline (by force if necissary), then remove it from your inventory. So a real GM will never ask you for items/mesos or personal information in game... EVER. Honestly, they aren't even allowed to. So, now that we have that covered, kiddies, what can you do about these fake GMs? Well, first and foremost, do not outright tell them off or defame them. Many of these fake GMs are hackers and will retalliate with a d/c hack,

Many of these fake GMs are hackers and will retalliate with a d/c hack, which means they get a free shot at trolling you, then get away scott free. The most effective way to take down a fake GM is to play along for a moment, while biding your time. Simply put, tell them to give you a moment, making up some kind of excuse like lag or a phone call. If they're dumb enough to give you that time, report them. Immediately. Since this issue is getting bigger, any flags put up to a person of being a fake GM will likely give the REAL GMs reason to investigate (especially if the fakers keep doing it). The next thing you can (and I suggest that you do try) is to save a screencap of the person claiming to be a GM and trying to scam you. Make sure you have that screenshot saved to your computer before you do anything else, because if the fake GM DOES d/c you, since you'll already be on the main site to log back on, you can take a minute to log in a ticket with the screenshot as evidence. This kind of proof will kill the fake GM, since it's absolute evidence of their wrongdoings. Once you have the report and screenshot, you can do whatever you want. I highly reccomend you do not waste the defame on them (since they really won't care) nor begin swearing or calling them anything derrogatory. Remember, swearing and derrogatory comments ar
