Whats your opinion on the Hung Parliament? Should we think to have another election? Should make both Labor and Liberal to work together? Should we even get the independent to even BACK up a party already? Discuss.

I think Tony Abott and Julia Gillard are both stuffed up, and we should beg for Kevin Rudd to come back.

They're all idiots. Also, greens are crazy so I dont know what happened in Melbourne. But, I guess Julia Gillard would be a better PM rather than Tony Abbot. As he is very single minded and ignorant.

uhm. hung parliament is rediculous. what alot of people dont realise is that the GG will have to go up to gillard and basically ask her "can you offer stable government", and she has to answer no. not because of the house of reps (assuming she gets the majority with the support of the independents) but because of the senate, at least until next year when the senators just elected come in. that's because libs have the power in the senate and labor need ALL the independents and the greens to vote with them to pass legislation, but bloody steve fielding is refusing to vote with labor under all circumstances (because he's an absolute idiot and he's lost his seat so he's going next year). abbott cant offer stable government either if he can't get a majority in the lower house so there's a good chance we'll go to the polls again soon. yes we should think to have another election. no we shouldn't combine the libs and labor. its plain stupid. there are extreme circumstances which call for it such as during WWII when it did happen, predominantly to stop the impact of communism, but they're from different ends of the political spectrum and are inherently opposed to each other. australia's democracy is based upon having two main parties with the opposition who's job is to OPPOSE (surprise surprise), and while there are oftens problems with this we can't jsut get rid of it altoghether, it just doesn't work, full stop. ive always been a fan of independents and minor parties staying independent, because (especially in circumstances like this where they have the absolute balance of power) they essentially have as much power as the two main parties. however, obviously its not possible because the government needs a majority to govern "steadily" and to pass things such as the budget. i'd like to see the independents agree to vote with labor to pass things such as the budget but remain independent when it comes to legislation. at the end of the day the libs have no policy, have no proven record of managing the economy, and I just cant see abbott as a leader of the country. labor has its shortcomings at the moment but regardless as far as im concenred they're a MILE ahead of the liberals in terms of managing the country (not necessarily getting brownie poitns with the people or convincing the most idiots) and i honestly cant believe the outcome of the election. ive said an awful lot about my views on the election on basil lately and sorry everything seems like a rant at the moment D:

most people who vote greens dont knwo what the greens stand for. they want steady state economics (ie. NO ECONOMIC GROWTH). and they blocked rudd's ETS because they wanted 4x the target reductions. so, by doing so they're saying "nothing is better than something" for the environment..? and they've been likened to communists in the way they want society run. ever heard of "the watermelon party" - green on the outside, red on the inside..? yeah.
