Meso Guard after Big Bang?

Ok this info was obtained through the revamp post not from experienced. Anywho meso guard was changed to so it takes off 61% now and with greed it adds 20% more to it, making it 81% taken off the received damage And with that said 81% being used with my hp 4.8k i can take 25k damage. What do you guys think?

I think you misunderstood the skill. It blocks 50% of the damage taken and you loss the damage it blocks as mesos. The 61% is the amount of mesos you lose relative to the damage blocked. Like if it blocked say, 10000 damage. You would lose 6100 mesos. Also, Greed makes the skill block 70% of the damage taken. That's assuming I read it correctly.

So if you take a hit it blocks 70% of your damage but the amount of mesos deducted is still 61% of the damage taken. If you got hit for 25k, if would protect 17.5k damage and reduce your mesos by 10675

The normal meso gaurd after big bang works the same as it does now, half dmg 61% meso usage.(For the ppl living under a rock its been like that since the balance patch) Ok now greed(4th job) adds 10% boost in meso defence and reduces cost by 20% meaning 60% damage reduction 41% meso lost for each damage taken away. Meaning if you get 100 damage you only get 40 damage to your hp and from the 60 gaurded damage you lose 41% meso. 60x0.41=24.6 Maplestory rounds down so you lose 24 meso. Monster does 100 dmg you lose 40 hp and 24 meso. That is not how it works. It only takes 50% of the damage taken. But from that other 50% damage, 61% is spent in mesos. Here is an example, If Monster ZXY hits you 2000 without MG, with MG on it will only hit you 1000. And you will spend 610 mesos per hit received. I'll be posting more stuffs about skills and such later on =] and thanks guys ! mad appreciation<3
