Battle Mages vs Bishops

So is it true that Battle Mages are going to be better than Bishops? And if so how; and if not, how? Please clear this up for everyone.

You people who think that cooldown will end mages are very close-minded. What is the point of a bishop? was it offense from the beginning? Why is an ultimate called an ultimate if they can SPAM it? They are called ultimates because they do the most damage to the most monsters in one blow. The other skills are their to support the ultimate. If Ultimate is the only used and most lovable skill in the mage section, why bother leveling the other skills? The ultimate "lovers" will be seperated from the mage lovers, because mage lovers will not quit because of some stupid cooldown.

[/quote] We'll get ksed again D; the same as lvl 1~120 >.< Lol, i guess its fine with all the upgrades, but we should have some damage buffs & Angels Ray should be stronger then Big Bang sicne every job has BB. ~ Still didnt need to put cooldowns on our Ultimates, we'll get bored of using them to train eventually..

What's the use in leveling your crusader, when at the end of the day, you'll reach the level cap? Scenario: You've finally reached level 200. You're excited and your friends, guild buddies, and family are proud of you. What now? Time to start a new character, correct? Unless you're just done with Maple altogether. My point is, at the end of the day, Maple, in my opinion, is merely personal entertainment. If someone enjoys playing a mage, or any character in general, then so be it. There's really no use in leveling a character to level 200 but for personal pleasure. "I have managed to accomplish something in my life." for example. So, in essence, if you personally believe that creating a mage, a class here on Maple, is useless, then you must too believe that every class, and perhaps reaching the level cap on any character is just as useless as well. Again, as a rehash, I'm saying that we all play for personal pleasure. Whether it's a mage, warrior, theif, pirate, or bowman, etc, we each enjoy the class that we pick. And if we don't enjoy it, we move on. We find pleasure out of the classes that we choose and stay with for a while. At the end of the day, we're not rewarded with anything special but the fact that we took time out of our life to enjoy this game through the good and the bad, and remember the most precious events and situations we've had with friends and other people online.

[/quote] so? other classes get ksed too. why should mages be different? If read all the changes i think it was bless or something other skill can't remember which gives like 15atk and matk now. getting bored of ultimates? if that was true then ppl today wouldn't just spam them. Nexon made the new party rate of 80/20 a while ago to kill leeching. putting a cooldown on how ppl do leech is probably the only way they could actually achieve the goal of no leeching.

Useless= No ultimate, no skills, no equips, no mesos Not Useless= Ultimate, skills, equips, and mesos still intact low levels would love your char, that is if you magicians are quitting....

sleepyheadXIII Yea but Genesis is the only decent attacking skill for bishops right now thats why, if other skills were upgraded then we would use them more for training since their lower mp usage. The only attacking skills i like are Genesis & Angels Ray, Big Bang is for fireworks O.o

Why use an atk that mobs like 4 or 6 monsters when can just use a 15monster atk that will probably 1hit ko skele post bb?

Zakum solo? Maybe an hour. After the big bang, my 1vs1 damage increases from 83k neutral max to 381k max. An increase of over 4x. Headless horseman - 5 seconds. Anego - Two minutes. Crow? Less than a minute. Zakum? Maybe 25 minutes. That's without MW 30, Echo, Cheese, or any form of attack pot, without infinity. hurr durr mages suck OT: Neither will be 'better'. Battle Mages are a supportive, attack-buffing class, Bishops are a supportive, defensive/survivability-buffing class. They actually work best in conjunction with each other.

[/quote] Did you factor in the, I think its called, PDR? Basically you will only do 90% damage on normal monsters, 80% on most area bosses, 75% on PQ bosses, 50% on Zakum and HT, and only 30% damage on PB. Also, mages are getting heavily buffed, they wont suck at all. For example, Evans are already powerhouses that can even kill BF with no problem and they will only get stronger. Edit: if you where talking about your mage killing those bosses, then just assume I'm agreeing with you.

My point was a bishop class is suppose to be a a support class. 2nd and 3rd job shows that. when 4th job came out and with the mind set of just bishops= gene,leech,and ks now, ppl have forgotten what a bishop was suppose to be. They have atks now buffed to make up for gene in a way. BB kind of fixs bishop to what they were before 4th job. So now ppl will play them for their playing style and not for ultimate 15atk 1hit ko ksing.
