CPQ - New or old scam?

So this guy offered me free wins and I thought sure, why not? So we're waiting for his "mule" and he and his partner are playing some sort of "show items" game. They kept begging me to show them my stuff, and I was suss. Eventually I dropped rwg, 6 att and the dude who was my party leader moved me into a room and his friend took the wg. I can't be bothered crying about it, because I suppose I can make the money back, but I want to know, new or old scam?

I use to do this, I was pretty good at it. I got 2 olivia chairs, 2 maple claws, a wagner, a 5 atk wg, and a 3 int esther shield
