Best potentials to get on an item?

| So, with the advent of potential scrolls & cubing, I am now wondering what the best potentials to aim for are. Is it % STR, or % damage, or % atk, or +atk, or the +XX% dmg when fighting bosses? Which one[s] is/are most effective for bossing, and which one[s] is/are most effective for training? Or is it a balanced combination of the above potentials? Thanks. Oh yeah, and do the +XX% damage when fighting bosses stack? Because if they do, that's seriously ridiculous...You can get the same potential on an item, correct? (e. g. +9% str and then another +9% str) Then wouldn't it be possible to say, quadruple your damage on bosses? Since the only "+dmg on bosses" I've seen is +30% o.O Thanks. |

| You can get +27% damage which is probably best. |

| #1: 30% boss damage (note: does not stack, so only get this once) #2: % total damage #3: % str #4: +w.atk #5: % w.atk #6: +str I believe that covers the relevant stuff. The order of #4 and #5 will change depending on your equipment though - if you have higher base atk, then +atk is less useful. But to what extent is kinda questionable. Same applies to #2 and #3 - for certain quantities of either, one can be better than the other. |

| Do you guys think I should re-cube my stonetooth? It's currently epic with 6% atk and 5% ice lvl 2. Would it be worth it to try for some other stuff? |

| Does all your other gear add more than 6%? If yes, then cube it again. If no, then cube something with worse stats. The better the equip, the more it'll cost to improve it. So upgrade your worst stuff first. |

Also, for % total damage, does it apply to the final damage you do or your damage range? And if damage range, does it affect what shows up in your stat window? Thanks. |
I dont think you are right about the % dmg . its not that great , if you do 100k with 6% dmg you will do only 106k .. % atk and + w.atk are better i think |

Let's see, the new formula for max damage is: MAX DAMAGE = MULTIPLIER * (4 * PRIMARY STAT + SECONDARY STAT) * ATTACK / 100 Let's plug in some (not so) random numbers! We'll be using a 2H sword just because, so MULTIPLIER = 1.32 Let's decide that we have 900 STR and 100 DEX. Our total ATTACK will be 200. 1.32 * (4 * 900 + 100) * 200/ 100 = 9768 Let's say we have a choice between 10% w.att and 10% damage. 10% w.att: 1.32 * (4 * 900 + 100) * 220/ 100 = 10744.8 10% damage 9768 * 1.1 = 10744.8 WHAT YOU SAY! Simple. That's how multiplication works. Now to try that with 10% STR: 1.32 * (4 * 990 + 100) * 200/ 100 = 10718.4 Turns into about a 9.7% boost. Sadface. |

| Okay, assuming it's a level 120 Unique weapon, the bonuses are: 9%/6% attack 9%/6% damage 9%/6% str 6%/4% all-stats 30%/20% boss damage If it's a Rare/Epic, you also have +12 w.atk 3 of these: % attack, % damage, % boss damage, are only available on weapons. This makes them easy to compare. There's one catch to % attack you should be aware of - it only affects equipment attack. So if (for example) you have 140 total attack from gear, and you've got 9% attack, you gain 12 attack. If you're reasonably well off and use Warrior Elixirs and have 10 BoF, that's a 7.4% increase in damage. So: % boss (30%) > % damage (9%) > % attack (7.4%) It's trickier with the other ones. But the obvious one to handle is +atk. Since it's 12 atk, it's identical to % attack in this case- 7.4%. But since it comes up on Rare/Epic rather than unique, it's easier to get. That's the main reason I listed it above % attack. 9% str - let's say you've already got 40% str from other gear. Since this adds, it's about a 6.4% boost. Actually I think I put this one in the wrong order. 30% boss damage (30%) 9% damage (9%) 12 attack (7.4%) 9% attack (7.4%) 9% str (6.4%) 12 str (1.4%) Am I the only one who thinks a 6k increase from 100k is still pretty useful? :| |
MishuTambal : edit : are you sure that % attack is % w.atk or % attack range ? because it doesnt say % w.atk it says % atk and when u open your ap window next to your atk range it say ATTACK .
I'm pretty positive. For one, if it was % attack range, it'd be synonymous with % damage. ...not that that matters, because, once again, multiplication is distributive, so it'd come to the same thing.
Mancartia : There's one catch to % attack you should be aware of - it only affects equipment attack. Honestly didn't know the full details about % attack, but it's nice to know it doesn't count BoF. I assumed it did simply because, otherwise, Potentials seem to be the last things calculated. Didn't consider situations like using Apples for that reason.
Mancartia : 30% boss damage (30%) 9% damage (9%) 12 attack (7.4%) 9% attack (7.4%) 9% str (6.4%) 12 str (1.4%) Am I the only one who thinks a 6k increase from 100k is still pretty useful? :|
No arguments on your list here. Do have a question though (since I haven't dove into Northperry as much as I'd imagine you have): have they confirmed what the Ignore Defense stat affects? Because, if it's the % Def that monsters and bosses seem to have now, that'd be another 30% increase. I'd imagine it isn't though. And I'd say 6k extra damage is plenty. With SI, I'd be getting in 100 Blasts a minute, meaning 600,000 extra damage/minute. When you consider that, at one point pre-potential, 1 w.att = 35 to my max range, a 10 w.att WG would give me 350 more maximum damage. (1.4 (Fire) + .125 (Lightning)) * 5.8 (Blast) * 350 = 3095 Potentials have just made people lose sight of rational standards. |

| I rescrolled my skull and now have 20% boss damage. I don't know why I splurged on NX, I'm hardly playing .. but it was fun and if I go BF for some fun it will mean 20% faster damage. Also got my zhelm to 4% str, about a 25% increase in my damage today |

If you have + 6% total damage, your gaining 9 att ( 150*0.06) if the same player had +6 w. att, it would be 3 att less you calculate to for yourself to find out with one is more valuable |
