I hear that if you open task manager and under processes you see 2 "winlogon" processes, one of them is a keylogger. Although I just heard that and know nothing about if it's true or not.

If you change your password, you will be hacked. Since im in a hurry to make sure you see this i'll comment more information. EDIT:
ciaspy123 : I hear that if you open task manager and under processes you see 2 "winlogon" processes, one of them is a keylogger. Although I just heard that and know nothing about if it's true or not.
This is not always true. Other keyloggers can be any proccess name the creator of the keylogger makes it to be. With that in mind. To be certain you can get rid of the keylogger, download these and scan your computer: Superantispyware (anti-spyware) Malwarebytes (anti-malware) avast (anti-virus) Also after these scans are done, be careful. Even the best software can't detect all possible viruses/keyloggers. This is because hacker make the programs FUD (Fully UnDetectable). To be even more safe, i would after doing the scans. Change the password on a different computer uninfected. Hope this helps your problem

hmm how to explain what a key logger is in a hurry hmm A keylogger is a virus, the only way you can get it is if you downloaded something, the person that infected you with a keylogger can now see what you type so s/he can see what you type when you type your password/username

Even if you delete the file that gave you the keylogger, it'll still be on your computer. I'd say reformat to be 100% sure it's gone.

Just curious about keyloggers, but does that FireFox Key scrambler add on really work? Like, if we did download one, would the other person just see those random letter it makes?

Changing your password won't help if you log on again from that infected PC. The person reading your info would just see your new password! A well written virus can't be detected very easily, so my advice is always the same- reinstall windows. Note: I'm not saying you should reformat- that's unnecessary, just reinstall windows . By reinstalling Windows, any programs that have made their way into the core system files and/or startup process will be replaced/removed with the standard windows configuration. And all your old files are left untouched, so you don't need to worry about backing up all your homework files, etc...

Which in turn, if opened. Infect the computer again. For the best measurement to know for sure its gone. Is to reformat. But if its just a small little not so well written keylogger, go with this method that myrdrex said.
KeyScrambler is not updated as a Firefox Add-on, but as a separate application. And yes.
BetR10U : I got hacked like few hours ago, i think with a keylogger.
If you changed the password and PIC on the infected computer, then yes, you'll be hacked again if the keylogger is still there, unless the hacker was sleeping in front of his computer. If you change both on a computer that is not infected, do you expect yourself to get hacked? As for the latter, do a virus scan and find out.

BetR10U Quick scan first then. It should be enough to find the most critical problems you have in there.

If you have a valid version of windows (i.e. windows 7, xp, etc) i suggest you download Microsoft Security Essentials . search exactly that and get it from the microsoft website. it's their free antivirus program and works wonders. malwarebytes is good also.
