I took several AP classes, and also took the AP exams for them. I got a 4 or higher on each of them. This means I should get some college credits if the college allows me to. However, my teacher also recommended that I take the SAT subject tests. Can someone explain the main difference between those and AP exams? Are SAT subject tests easier or more difficult than AP exams? Recently, when I looked through my college information sheets, it states that some colleges require SAT tests. Are they really a requirement? Because it's been a year since I took some AP classes, and it'll be a pain in the butt to study a whole course of information again just to take a SAT subject tests. Thanks for all you help~!

I took APUSH and got a 5. I am going to be taking the SAT US. History test soon. My teacher says that it is 10x easier than the AP test. You won't need to study for it.

I'm pretty sure AP is harder than the SAT in general. But the SAT and ACT are college admission tests. Colleges look at your test scores from those tests.

Does it say that the college requires SAT I or SAT II? SAT II is the subject tests, and depending on your what college (and year, and where you live), colleges might require you to take them. But don't worry, they are much easier than AP Exams. SAT I is the normal college admission test that basically everyone takes.

SAT I just tests your logic and is based off of math, english, and possibly writing. SAT II Subject test tests you on the same and different material, but it may be harder.

SAT II subject tests are easier than the AP tests. They [SAT Sub. Tests] aren't very long also. Some colleges, such as Carnegie Mellon and Princeton, require SAT II subject tests for the field you plan on working in. (Ex. Engineering >>> Math iiC and Chemistry/Physics

And some colleges require that you take atleast 2 SAT II's. Like if you're going to an Engineering college, you would need to take any Math SAT II and any Science SAT II.

If you passed your AP classes without too much hassle, SAT won't be a pain. SAT II and III are optional and not every College requires them, if your College don't set them in the pre-reqs, don't waste your freakin'time doing them. As it was said above, some programs such as Engineering/Architecture/Pure Science may require them. If you have to take them, then do your best to score high, you want to get into a decent College to maximize your chances to enter graduate programs at top schools(Masters,PhDs etc...)

Hopefully most of the responses are true that SAT II subject tests are easier than the AP exams.
