Gay marriage, should it be allowed? Please state it and give a good reason if you're up for a little talk about it. Just as a personal interrest, I've added belief into the poll, to see if there is some kind of affection on either side.
waver66 : I think this thread shouldn't be going on. Not because I'm scared of the outcome, but because it's all opinion and TS, you sir, are an ultimate troll. This is a flame war, because there really is no "right and wrong", those are set by humans for humans. There could be a real creator, there could not be. Of course everyone has their opinion. But those people saying "it's not marriage blah blah blah" since when did we give a definition to marriage as "a man and a women becoming one"? No, it's "two people coming together as one". But again, this is my opinion..... soooo *flameshield on*
I'm curious... how am I a troll ? o.O

Marriage in the first place is really unnecessary. It's just a way to get some money out of it. If you really love each other, you shouldn't need it. Straight or not.

Let's look at it this way. Marriage isn't owned by the catholic church no matter how much the think they do own it. In times before Christianity it was mainly for bond of land, wealth, and the right to have children. The fact that it isn't legal just shows that religious teachings interfere with governmental decisions and it will always be this way as long as we have religion.

The only reasons I've ever seen against gay marriage are religious based, or because gays are "icky." Neither of those have any bearing on the matter, since while marriage was originally a religious institution, it is now a civic matter as well. Because of the seperation of church and state, religious matters should have no bearing on civic matters. "ickyness" is just plain ignorant and stupid. all in all, theres just no reason against.

Yes yes yes and lastly YES! We are talking about making something legal so what are all these religious argument doing here? Doesn't ANYONE understand separation of church and state? I am also tired of "beastiality" comments. There has to be a line to who and what you can marry. Marrying your dog is ridiculous, I won't really say anything about incest (at least you aren't with an animal though) But gay marriage should be allowed. ReLaX I stopped after "needs mother and father." Ever heard of single moms and dads?

spunk3hIt blows my mind how someone can compare beastiality to homosexuality. Two LOVING and CONSCIOUS people want to get married. The facebook group "If you don't want a gay marriage, s*** and don't get one" sums it up pretty well. Also, marriage isn't much of a religious affair anymore, so that argument is invalid. :x

Any religious reason against gay marriage should not draw voters to say no. It doesn't matter what your religion thinks of it, but your religion should not be governing the laws of society. America is already coming dangerously close to a theocracy, and more laws based on religion are not good.
jellybby : No - civil unions, not marriage. I'm all for gay rights and anti-discrimination, but legally marriage implies the right to have kids and so on - and I think there's some ethical issues going on when kids have two guys or two women as parents. Think about the poor kids having to go around telling everyone "my dads a guy and my mum's a guy" and possibly not having someone from their own gender to learn certain things off... I can accept that love might not necessarily be between a man and a woman, but bearing children is another story...
I couldn't agree with you more. I'm for anti-discrimination and civil unions . Not for marriage. And for those who think homosexuality is completely normal- there's a reason we're are not supposed to be gay. If everyone were gay, no one would be reproducing. That's my logic on this matter, anyway. -gets flamed- Transcendence - I lol'd. But it really is true, Adam and Steve may love each other, but only Adam and Eve can make babies. 8D
