Theory on how nexon works

I'm constantly wondering, "how are servers crashing? Shouldn't there be people somewhere, behind a desk watching over maplestory, who should be alerted when a server is about to crash, so they can just dc everyone beforehand?" "Why aren't hackers being banned on the spot?" "Wouldn't it make more sense if gms roamed around just a wee bit more?" "why aren't more problems being dealt with?" So I figure it's like this. These people "behind desks" or whatever are human beings. So they probably get payed by the hour. Meaning they probably aren't awake 24/7. Now probably due to improper funding, nexon isn't paying workers to work 24/7 surveying maple. So when a survey crashes, or when that guy gets his 500th enhancement on his craven, its probably because theres no worker/gm behind a computer screen watching it happen. What will tomorrow morning be like for these nexon/maple workers? *Walks inside. Reads alert on screen. "Hey guys, Scania crashed again... oh welll... lets give em some maple points and make a "sorry for the inconvenience" notice on the site with a crapload of typos, we should be good"* Why don't they have workers on the game 24/7? Because theres no need to. It's easier to make all this money and not hire more people so we can get faster assistance.

They should outsource the GM jobs. They would save money, and have active GMs online virtually 24/7. The only drawback would be that some of them might not speak English, but this game isn't too hard to moderate. If you see a jittery dude flying around, ban him. If you see an item appear with forty stars, ban the guy who scrolled it. Mhm. No potentially catastrophic problems here, no sir.

But it would be "too much trouble" for those lazy bastards to spend some money so the game could be better. Nexon simply owns the rights of maplestory in the US. I'm not sure if they would need permission or not, but either way, they know what they could fix; they just don't see the point in spending money. Corporate greed FTW! I'm sure Maple won't take a turn for the worse, not for long at least. Because before it gets terrible "with hackers all over the place" and whatnot, they can quickly take action.

NaMS has over 14 million active accounts. MS in total? Over 100 million.

Well, the easiest solution would be to give ban powers to MWLB members, since they're pretty active. However, I don't think Nexon's down with people doing that kind of stuff directly. Still, if anyone thinks they could do a better job while being unbiased and mature, they should check the Nexon website for job openings/listings/postings/whatnots.

But theres no way in hell thats true. 100 million+ that are active? Not even if you counted all maplestory players in the world.

[/quote] The de-activation time for accounts is around a year, perhaps less if they've changed it recently. I've had an account deactivated after leaving it for my freshman year of college, a time period of no longer than 14 months. (I quit a bit early to begin apps). I'm fairly certain the huge majority of those accounts are active.
