I got a message from someone on facebook, and he isn't my friend, but he commented on one of my friend's statuses. He asked me a question, and I don't know how to answer it correctly. Here is the Question: "Hey, God does give us freedom to choose the music we listen to, just like Adam had the choice to take the fruit of of the tree or to choose God. Use the freedom you have to honor God not to damn God. I'm not against secular music, in fact I like some secular music, but there is a difference between music that is good and music that is bad. I know you don't believe in God, I can see from your page but I'll ask you one simple question. What If you died today, and there really is a God who is perfect and holy what do you have to claim for him to allow you in heaven? " I responded with this: I would say to god that I am a nice guy. In Christianity, it is not good works that grant you entrance to Heaven, but belief in Jesus Christ and all that, so you would not be able to justify anything.If your intention is to make me think, "What if there is a God? Isn't it better to believe than to not believe?" I would also say:"Hell is a obviously a better place if you don't let people who ignore you in" If he/she/it couldn't accept me for who I chose to be in my life, then that's their problem, not mine. He responded with this: God is not willing that any should perish but have everlasting life. God is not wanting to send everyone to hell, He wants everyone to be a part of his family, that's what the gospel(good news) is about. Jesus died for all of humanity so that by his scares we would find acceptance in God. God is not "nice" but he is not evil either. God has to be good but at the same time He is perfect, and because he is perfect, he can't accept us because of our sin. But God made a way for you and I to receive a free pass from hell. Why would you choose death over life? He is a gentleman, he gives you the freedom to make the choice of either following him or not. And that is your choice, but you don't have to. I wouldn't be telling you this if I didn't care about your soul. Why else would I be spending time telling you about God? I understand how you feel and there are christians out there who are fake and obviously need to spend more time learning to act like Jesus and less like a ignorant fool. I used to be the same way but you have to not care what other christians may do around you have to focus on the message God gives you! At the end of the day, you came into this world alone and you'll die alone in this world, the same goes for me! But the deal is God gives you the choice to have fellowship with God for eternity. This is a free gift, you do not have to take it if you don't want to. Even if you choose not to accept God, God still respects your decision and allows you to do what you want because He wants you to freely choose him. That really depends on the religion. In Christianity, it is not good works that grant you entrance to Heaven, but belief in Jesus Christ and all that, so you would not be able to justify anything. If this guy's intention is to make you think, "What if there is a God? Isn't it better to believe than to not believe?" then consult the Wikipedia article on Pascal's Wager.

I wouldn't really care if god was staring me face to face despite my lack of belief in him/her/it. If he/she/it couldn't accept me for who I chose to be in my life, then that's their problem, not mine.

Haha, many good responses. As he/she said, if this God turns out to be so perfect and HOLY, I wouldn't have to do anything for him to let me in to Heaven. That just contradicts itself. He'll just forgive me for my sins knowing i'm not perfect but HE(or she who knows) is and still loves me and done. "Hello, I'm the perfect and holy God. Now dance for me and we'll see if I'd want you in. Otherwise....."
